This day if glorified as the beginning to Treta Yuga. 11.0pt;font-family:Tahoma;color:black">a) The devotee should worship Narayanaya accompanied by Shri with flowers, incense and unguents. 11.0pt;font-family:Tahoma;color:black"> 11.0pt;font-family:Tahoma;color:black">b) If he takes the holy dip in the Holy Ganga, he is absolved of all sins. He should worship Vishnu with unbroken rice grains and feed Brahmanas with the flour of barley, first friend and then ground and he himself shall partake of it. He who does this is bowed to by all Devas. color:black">_______________________________ 11.0pt;font-family:Tahoma;color:black"> 11.0pt;font-family:Tahoma;color:black">The 11.0pt;font-family:Tahoma;color:black">Gauri color:black"> Vrata color:black"> is for an unmarried virgin, desirous of a bridegroom, matrimonial bliss and good fortune for her sons and husband. Gauri’s image should be made in gold. Silver, copper or clay along with that of Lord Shiva on this third day in the bright half (sukla paksha) of the month of Chaitra. Observing fast and remaining awake throughout the night, the worship is with scents, fragrant flowers, clothes, auspicious ornaments and bundles of dhurva grass. She propitiates a Brahmana woman whose husband and sons and girls of auspicious characteristics and whom are still alive. She will offer them saffron, collyrium, clothes and other items. 11.0pt;font-family:Tahoma;color:black">The image of Gauri should be gifted to a Brahmana if it is metallic. If it is made of clay, she should immerse it in a tank or a river. 11.0pt;font-family:Tahoma;color:black">This vrata has to be kept for twelve years with due formal resolve to donate and also donate twelve cows for the achievement of her desires. color:black">Swarna-Gauri Vrata is to be performed on the third day of the bright half of Sravana. Goddess Bhavani (Golden Image) accompanied by Lord Shiva should be worshipped by means of the 16 (sixteen) Upacaras with a prayer etc. this vrata is to be kept for 16 years and the Udyapana (concluding rite of the vrata) by performing worship of Ganesha and other Gods with a flat copper-plate over the water pot with scents, fragrant flowers and perform Homa. Sixteen bamboo baskets shall be filled with sweet dishes and cooked rice offered to the font-family:Tahoma;color:black">Devi color:black"> as Naideya and distributed amongst Brahmanas , kinsmen and relatives. The full benefit of this vrata can be attained by gifting the golden image to the preceptor and other monetary gifts to the other Brahmanas. (No expenses should be spared for this vrata). color:black">______________________ color:black"> 11.0pt;font-family:Tahoma;color:black">The third day of the bright half of the month of Jyestha is known as Rambha. On that day, one should duly worship and honour an excellent Brahmana accompanied by his wife. With the desire of conjugal blessedness, a woman should perform this holy rite and worship the Brahmana couple with scents, fragrant flowers, silken garments etc. It yields wealth, sons and auspicious inclinations towards Dharma. 11.0pt;font-family:Tahoma;color:black"> color:black">_________________________ 11.0pt;font-family:Tahoma;color:black"> 11.0pt;font-family:Tahoma;color:black">For conjugal bliss, on the third day of the bright half of the month of Ashadha, the lady should worship Keshava accompanied by Lakshmi, symbolized or represented in a Brahmana accompanied by his wife. She should propitiate them with meals, charitable gifts of cows, clothes and ornaments (and pleasing words).
