Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna Namaste friends, Happy Guru Pournima again! There were a couple of confusions. When the existing customers of JHora 5.0 commercial version install the free 6.0 update, they will need a new license key as the licensing mechanism has been changed. However, once they get the new license key, they will not need another license key again when they reformat their hard disk or something like that. The old machine ID and license key mechanism used some operating system properties and hence some people needed new license keys once in every few months when they made important software changes to their computers. OTOH, the machine ID and license key mechanism in 6.0 strictly uses hardware properties and will not change when you install new software or operating system. So, install the update and ask for a new license key. If you are an existing customer, I will give you the new license key. Then you will be all set and will not need a license key again. If the update fails for some reason, please send mail to me and I will guide you further. Now the site has been moved to www.VedicAstrologer.org and you can use the following links: To download the free Lite version 6.0: http://www.VedicAstrologer.org/jhl6 (both the normal and short versions work now) For those who ALREADY have the commercial (non-Lite) version 5.0 working on their computers and want to update to commercial version 6.0: http://www.VedicAstrologer.org/jh6up (please do not try to install the update here if you only have the Lite version 5.0. It will NOT work without a license key, which I cannot give you) For those who do not have the commercial version and want to buy 6.0 of the commercial version directly: http://www.VedicAstrologer.org/jh6 ALL THE ABOVE LINKS AND THE LINKS WITHIN THEM ARE WORKING FINE. The site has been moved to a -Geocities Pro account and hence the access should be faster and the "the page is temporarily unavailable" problem should not happen. The old links in the enclosed mail also work and they are redirected to the above links. You can just go to http://www.VedicAstrologer.org and find all links from there. A couple of people who do not have the commercial version and have only the lite version tried to install the update. If you do that, your lite version will also be corrupted and you will have to re-install it. The update is meant only for existing customers of the commercial version. If you are not one, simply download the latest lite version and do not complicate things for yourself by trying out the update of the commercial software. I want to express my humble gratitude to all my gurus! On this auspicious occasion, I am happy to release version 6.0 of free software "Jagannatha Hora Lite" and commercial software "Jagannatha Hora 6.0". Version 6.0 of the free Lite version contains annual Tithi Pravesha charts (annual lunar return charts - the lunar equivalent of Tajaka), Tithi Ashtottari dasa, Moola dasa and Drigdasa. The commercial version includes critical updates in atlas computation and timezone computation and several features like a graphical transit calendar. This version also includes a fix in the licensing mechanism. Your machine ID will not change and the same license key will work until you change your network card or make significant hardware changes. Version 6.0 also includes many minor bug-fixes/improvements. If you bought version 5.0 of the commercial version, I strongly recommend upgrading to version 6.0. Soon version 6.0 of JHoraLite will be available for downloading on SJC website too. For now, you can download from my website. Here are the links: Free Jagannatha Hora Lite version 6.0: http://www.geocities.com/pvr108/jhl6 The free 6.0 update for those who ALREADY have the commercial (non-Lite) version "Jagannatha Hora 5.0" (releases 5.0 or 5.0.1 or 5.0.2 or 5.0.3): http://www.geocities.com/pvr108/jh6up For freshly buying version 6.0 of the commercial software: http://www.geocities.com/pvr108/jh6 Depending on your situation, go to the appropriate page. Of course, you can go to http://www.geocities.com/pvr108 and find links from there. May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha PS: There seems to be some problem with the -GeoCities service I have. Sometimes, it gives an error saying the file cannot be accessed. This does not happen for simple pages and happens only when you try to download a zip file. I have upgraded to a better service. It will take a few days for the new service to start. Until then, if you get an error, there is no solution other than coming back after a few hours and trying again. PPS: If you go to the JHLite 6.0 page, download only the short version (jhl6s.zip). The other version (jhl6.zip) has a problem. I tried uploading it to several times. Each time, it says the upload was successful. But, when I download it, the downloaded file has one extra byte and hence the zip file is unzippable. I will resolve the issue in a couple of days. Meanwhile, you can install the short version. The only difference is that it has minimal help.
