what significance does a planet aspecting its own house hold?

I want to know , whether there is any significance in planets aspecting its own

house hold. i want to whether a planet lord of 8th in 2nd and aspecting 8th

improves 8th house matters. One common feeling that " a planet will never harm

its own house ( as with human beings). is this is correct.
