Dear Visti Namaste

I read your article on The Navamsa, Karma and… God at your site.

While reading that certain points I was not too clear so wanted to

clear it.You said Surya and Jupiter are Satya and Guru.

Why Sun as Satya? Is it because it clears the tama and gives clear

light of thoughts? But we read

in Mahabharat that the Sun was responsible Kunti's first son before

marriage. Many in this part of world believe that unmarried girl

should not worship Surya because of that only. Can we still say that

Surya is Satya?

Further you said "From this we can infer that those who seek

spirituality in a previous life may not necessarily have followed a

dharmic and truthful way of life."

Can a Nidharmi and Asatya person be spiritual? He may be religious

like Ravana but certainly not Spiritual. I am not sure about it

please explain.

Then you said "More notably Jupiter is deeply inimical towards Rahu,

as Rahu causes the diversion from spiritual life, to material life!"

Is is Rahu inimical to Jupiter or Jupiter inimical to Rahu? Which is

more correct?

Thanks alot for your Time and Sapce.

Dear Visti Namaste

[Visti] You are very

learned in the shastra, so why does Kalyan Verma state that Jupiter is “Devagya”,

when we read in the Puranas that Brihaspati was said to have raped his brothers

wife? Is this “Devagya” or is the basis of treating the planets

like this wrong?

font-family:"Courier New"">

Further you said "From this we can infer that

dharmic and truthful way of life."

Can a Nidharmi and Asatya person be spiritual? He

[Visti] Just look at

who came to liberate Ravan from his mortal coils, its said that Sri Ravana’s

worship of Shiva was so intense that Sri Vishnu had to incarnate to give him

Moksha – this is beyond our understanding obviously. Otherwise why did

Sri Vishnu have to kill Ravana?

font-family:"Courier New"">

Then you said "More notably Jupiter is deeply

inimical towards Rahu,

as Rahu causes the diversion from spiritual life,

to material life!"

Is is Rahu inimical to Jupiter or Jupiter inimical

to Rahu? Which is

more correct?

[Visti] There are many

types of Sambandha – and I think you have Naisargika Sambandha in mind

when asking this question. In the Dig Chakra Rähu and Jupiter rules

opposite directions, hence they will not support each others path.

Thanks alot for your Time and Sapce.

Dear Prabodh, Namaskar

Be careful when qouting from Phala

Deepika, Mantresvara is not easy to understand. Did you know that somewhere in

those slokas the calculation for the Jagannath Drekkana is given? Very

difficult shastra. Better to stick to BPHS, MJUS, Saravali and Jataka Parijata,

which are in line with the parampara. Also Brihat Jataka is good, but problem

is that it is a compilation of many oppinions, and hence cannot be considered

as parampara – which would have one clear direction… So those

reading Brhat Jataka should read Saravali along with it for clarification. This

way there is always an upadesa for the major works.

For BPHS there is MJUS. I in turn also

consider Jataka Tattva as an excellent addendum to understanding MJUS.

For Sarvartha Chintamani there is Jataka

Parijata.

For Brhat Jataka, there is Saravali.

Now the reason we consider the Sun as

Satya is because he is atmakaraka. In laymen terms this means, self-realization

is truth.

Best wishes,

Dear Visti Namaste

I did not know that in 5th Adhyaya 2nd shloka of Phaladipika

calculation for Jagannath Drekna is as well given. It will be

interesting to know. Will you please explain it?

Sun as Atmakarak is Satya is ok but does Atmakarak means

Atmagyankarak as well. Because self realization is not Atma rather

it is Atmagyan. Or again I am missing something?

Thanks a lot for your Time and Sapce.

Dear Prabodh, Namaskar

Karaka means “doer” or “to

do”, and the atma-karaka is the one which works on behalf of the atma. Now,

all the upanishads agree that the atma is indeed trying to reach

self-realization, and it is the mind of the person who is diverting the atmas

attention elsewhere. This is why the Vimshottari dasa of the atmakaraka can be

painful, as the mind is forced to follow the soul. So naturally the atma-karaka

is the one leading to atma-gyana.

As for the jagannath Drekkana – I did

not say which sloka it was.

Best wishes,

Dear Visti Namaste

I did not know that in 5th Adhyaya 2nd shloka of

Phaladipika

calculation for Jagannath Drekna is as well given.

It will be

interesting to know. Will you please explain it?

Sun as Atmakarak is Satya is ok but does Atmakarak

means

Atmagyankarak as well. Because self realization is

not Atma rather

it is Atmagyan. Or again I am missing something?

Thanks a lot for your Time and Sapce.

Dear Visti Namaste

I thought that the Atma in body is Chaitanya, that is present every

where in the nature. This Chaitanya is because of Surya only. That

is why the Atmakarak or Chaitanyakarak is Surya. This Chaitanya when

enters body starts believing that it is body. This realization of

Chaitanya is Atma. But is realization is not Maya or Mithya. So true

knowledge of self is correct realization and is called as Atmagyan.

This Atmagyan may be or may not be because of Surya. Dasha of Ak may

be good or bad and there can be several reasons fro this.

Moroeover Karaka is maker or doer and not "to do". The "Kru" dhatu

indicates to do.

Enen if you did not say which shloka it was I still request you to

throw some light on Jagannath Dekana from Phaladeepika.

Thanks a lot for your Time and Space.
