Hello and Welcome to Vedic Astrology group,

 

This is my first e-mail on this list. I started this list on 25th Nov.,2000

(last Saturday)

and within 3 days, it has got around 30 members. I was waiting for this much

number of members before I start posting e-mails.

 

Let me introduce myself first.

 

I'm Vipin Doda - a simple human being like you. Having lot of faith on God

and a beginner in learning Astrology. As I could not find any group devoted

to beginners, so I planned to start a group for beginners where they can

help each other. So don't feel shy in asking basic questions of astrology,

you're here for that. And, we've got few experts also here to help us.

 

You can also discuss topics related to Karmas and Astrology. This is must to

understand astrology and the aim of life. People having knowledge of Gita

can help here.

 

Now, simple and basic suggestions. I found some users who can't open HTML

format e-mails. So, it's better if we just send e-mails in simple ASCII text

format. In that way, everyone can read that e-mail. If, due to any reason,

you've got HTML format e-mail and unable to read the message, just open that

e-mail in your browser.

 

Secondly, while giving birth particulars, keep these points in mind.

Write down the date of birth in dd/mmm/yy format. e.g. 3rd Jan., 1980 / 8th

July, 2000

Why?

Because if you just write 3/1/1980, for few it is 3rd Jan., 1980 and for few

it may be 1st March, 1980. - different countries have different date format.

So to avoid any confusion - simply expand the date format as mentioned

above.

 

While mentioning Place of Birth, give the Longitudes and Latitudes of the

place also, if possible. You won't find many small / uncommon cities name in

books / computer softwares.

 

Give time zone also, if possible.

 

 

Thirdly, use relevant heading in Subject of your e-mail. 1) It will be easy

to sort the e-mails where users are getting lots of e-mail daily. 2) It will

be very beneficial for the future users to look into previous e-mail quickly

on web-site Vedic Astrology

 

 

Also, I've made chat room ONLY for astrologers on my web-site

http://www.sonipat.com. Generally, the problem with astrological chat rooms

is that users logs in at different time and that's why they don't find any

partner there to discuss. In that case, it's better if someone announces a

common date and time and topic to be discussed, so that interested users can

meet at common place.

 

I'll post all the above info to the welcome e-mail so that all future users

get this as soon as they join the list.
