well this is just to start the discussion.Too much meaning should not

be read in this.

 

The Planets are classified as Natural benefic & Natural Malefic.

 

Jupiter,Venus, Moon (waxing) are benefic Mercury(neutral)

Rahu,Ketu,Mars,Saturn, Sun are malefic.

 

But these are generic discription. Each planet has malefic as well as

benefic qualities attached with it.

 

 

Fundamental Principles:

 

1) All Planets in their exaltation signs have the maximum benefic

qualities.

2) All planets in debilition has Maximum Malefic qualities.

 

So, Jupietr in debilition is slightly malefic. & Saturn in

exaltation is Benefic qualities apart from their benefic & Malefic

qualities.

 

Second Question is What Is benefic & What is Malefic??

 

1)beneficance referred in scriptures is characteristics towards

spiritualism and broadly attitude of renunciation. As the goal is to

seek Paramatma i.e. God, and not Material success.

2)malefecance generally referred as materialistic attitude. So

malefic planets promote materialistic tendencies. Tamas is the word

in Sanskrit.

 

The role of satwik planet is to lessen the burden of karmic effect on

soul or increase the good karma so as break the cycle of rebirth.

 

The role of malefic planet is to increase the burden thus bind the

soul to cycle of rebirth.

 

The benefic in exaltation do this wiyh full effect.

The malefic in debilition promote the materialistic tendencies.

Thus all planet in exaltation promote good deeds

(spiritual,realigious,rightous) and in debilition do exactly reverce.

 

For example

 

A criminal in his own house may not be as violent as outside.

(exaltation)

Similarly a priest in temple will be very religious.(exaltation)

Even than criminal can not become the equilant of priest.

 

so goes the effect.

Hello Rajesh Lakhani,

 

You are doing fine, but can you explain the method for figuring out the

waxing and waning Moon cycles. There are some explainations in the Ancient

Hindu Astrology for Western Astrologer by James Braha. There are other

explainations also. So to help the newcomers, can you explain this concept.
