Each planet has its good and evil indications, Jupiter can in health matters

give over expanditure, of certain body parts, and also becomes ether in other

matters.

 

Mars's benefic effects could give courage to a person, and strength.

 

Thus understanding each planets energies, you can therefore translate them into

benefic and malefic effects.

[Vedic Astrology] Functional Malefic/Benefics

Hello All,I would appreciate if anyone could help me understand a few

fundamental questions that are unclear to me.If a planet for eg. Jupiter being

a first rate becomes a functional Malefic for a chart. How would one read the

effects of Jupiter. Would it by his inherent nature expand the Malificiance of

the houses where he aspects and would he by being a functional malefic taint

the planets that he cojoins/aspects. Or the other scenario where by his

inherent benefic nature despite being a functional malefic would reduce the

malificiance of the houses that he aspects and expand the qualities of the

planets he aspects and cojoins ? On the same token how would one study a planet

like Mars , being a malefic planet by inherent nature is a functional benefic

how would he act in a chart ?How would one study the above scenario if the

planets are in a state of Exaltation or Debilitation ?When gurus, jyotisha

write that a planet X is afflicted by malifics like Saturn, Mars etc what would

that mean in respect to a scenario if Saturn were to own 9th and 10th house for

that matter or if Mars were to be a YogaKaraka ... would one still say that a
