Guest guest
You ask "What is the desire of saturn". I must say this is a very general question. I really can't tell you about the precise desire of saturn because it basically depends on its strength according to the sign and house it is in, the houses it owns and also its aspect with the lord of ascendant and ascendant itself. For example in my case, with gemini rising, lord of ascendant (mercury) and lord of fifth (venus) are in 12th, and saturn placed in libra - exalted, being the lord of 8th and 9th, I think the desire of saturn in my case is education and progress in life. Since it is placed in 5th, it also gives the desire for acquring power and authority. Generally, I've seen that saturn loves power and authority, fame, study of occult sciences and sometimes mathematical sciences. If saturn is really strong and placed in trines, then it gives a strong desire for finding the ultimate reality. It depends on other factors, how the person tries to search for ultimate reality. If someone has got a good saturn with good aspect with mercury and jupiter, the person may well be a scientific researcher - someone like Stephen Hawking (the scientist who wrote the bestselling book "A brief history of time"). If there's an evil aspect of saturn with jupiter and mercury, then the person may end up at the stairs of some monastery, church, mosque, mandar, etc. Saturn also stands for sacrifice. If evil, then death and murder. If debilited or fallen and aspecting the ascendant through an angle (with the exception of 10th), then the person can be Hitler Jr. I don't remember any other desires of saturn. For that, I'll have to look in the bundle of reference books I've got, and I don't have any intention to do that because its too much time-consuming. I think that saturn, being naturally the outermost planet (according to the old astrology, in which I truly believe), it has the potential of controlling other planets and producing much good or evil according to its own mood (by mood I mean its strength and aspect). I, once read in a book that saturn is the power distributor among the planets. I don't totally agree with that, but certainly I believe that if someone wants power and authority, then either his sun or saturn must be strong. Both can take a person to that level, but saturn does it much slowly and demands much more patience and hard work than sun. That is one of the reasons that persons with strong saturn gain fame and fortune, but in late age because that is the nature of saturn. No one can alter that. I can't remember any more. If someone thinks I am wrong, I'd much appreciate his comments but don't be vague. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Farrukh, you worte Generally, I've seen that saturn loves power and authority, fame, study of occult sciences and sometimes mathematical sciences. What is the source of this statement? You wrote I can't remember any more. If someone thinks I am wrong, I'd much appreciate his comments but don't be vague. Nothng vague in my satement about saturn's desire. Each planet wants to give something.... that basic intrinsic desire. If this statement looks vague to you, the intention was only to make you think. Since it;s time consuming for you to think and learn, i will let this discussion pass. Guest guest
What do you wanna say? You want me to think about the nature of saturn. How should I think? Please teach me. **Each planets wants to give something** Tell me what does saturn give that is common to all ascendants, all aspects, all positions, all houses? And by the way, why have you quoted only a small portion of my message. I wrote different things for different strengths of saturn. I also wrote that it gives death but you didn't quote it. huh! Its surely time-consuming for me to discuss it with you. Because people who are very superstitious, believe in planets as if they are gods, like in the roman times. You seem to belong to the same category. Maybe saturn as a god, "wants to give something". If saturn is not considered a god, then noone can really say what it really signifies. There are different school of thoughts. I just wrote about some of them. Maybe saturn as a Roman God, gave death. Maybe he gave life. Who knows? I must set a date with Saturn the God. Please give me his email address. I would go in person to him and ask him about this. haha! Please! don't be ridiculous. I just shared the knowledge I had. If I am wrong, then correct me. Heated debates would lead nowhere. You certainly seem to possess knowledge that I don't have but if you make fun of my message, I can return the same favor. So, please, I am here to increase my knowledge, not to increase the number of enemies. I really think that I am an illiterate. Maybe I don't even have 1% of your knowledge. So, why don't you educate me instead of poking fun at me. Be a good teacher! I hope you get it. Sorry for the "Return Favor". Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Farrukh, My comments are below in Red - farrukhnauman Vedic Astrology Friday, August 30, 2002 7:32 PM [Vedic Astrology] Re: The desire of Saturn! What do you wanna say? You want me to think about the nature of saturn. How should I think? Please teach me.**Each planets wants to give something**Tell me what does saturn give that is common to all ascendants, all aspects, all positions, all houses? No matter what the Lagna is... saturn always gives graha drishti on 3rd and 10th houses. now go ahead and think about this. And by the way, why have you quoted only a small portion of my message. I wrote different things for different strengths of saturn. I also wrote that it gives death but you didn't quote it. huh! For the simple reason that to cause death, you need some other planet in play. Saturn alone never gives death at all. Again, i asked you the source of your lengthy quotes. I still haven't got that answer. Its surely time-consuming for me to discuss it with you. Because people who are very superstitious, believe in planets as if they are gods, like in the roman times. You seem to belong to the same category. Maybe saturn as a god, "wants to give something".If saturn is not considered a god, then noone can really say what it really signifies. There are different school of thoughts. I just wrote about some of them. Maybe saturn as a Roman God, gave death. Maybe he gave life. Who knows? I must set a date with Saturn the God. Please give me his email address. I would go in person to him and ask him about this.haha! Date with saturn indeed!. This goes by the name of sade sathi. Even lord Shiva wasn't spared by Saturn's gaze. Every planet has a desire. This is clear from Sage prashara. Esp. when he clearly differentiated between Graha and Rasi Dristi. As far as your reply about a planet being a god goes... all i will say is as a student in jyotish, all i want to see is narayana in every horoscope. This is what my guru teaches. Please! don't be ridiculous. I am not a teacher. I am just a student. There is nothing i said that would be constructed as a heated debate. You asked a question, i replied with a question that has the answer. Even a good teacher will make a person think. Are u thinking?. And no i have no greater knowledge. There are many people in this group who are much more learned. If my return questions make you think as though i am poking fun? well.... neither my intention has been to make fun in this group (please do search for my past posts in this list), nor do i have time to about wasting my time making fun at people like you. I hope you get it.Sorry for the "Return Favor". No apologies needed. But i would ask a few more pointed questions that indulging in thesis and un-substantiated quotations. Why does mars specially aspect 4th and 8th houses. why does Jupiter aspect 5th and 9th only? what about Rahu? why is rahu;s aspect similar to that of Jupiter but only in the reverse? (in desire and not as in direction) I wasn't planning to reply to you... but words like ridiculous, be a good teacher, returning in the same favor made me send out this mail. All the best in knowing the desire of satrun!
