Guest guest
Dear Balaji, Renee, Jiger and All, Although there is no doubt that 2nd house governs teeth, the graha for teeth seems to be another one of those muddy areas. I was taught, and this is confirmed in BPHS Ch.3, that the grahas associated with the seven constitutional elements, or tissues of the body (Sapta-dhatu), are thus: Sun = Bones (including teeth) Moon = Blood Mars = Marrow Mercury = Skin Jupiter = Fat Venus = Semen/Ovula Saturn = Muscles As I understand it, the above grahas are responsible (primarily) for the development and maintenance of these bodily tissues throughout the whole body. However the specific body parts (physiology) and associated diseases attributed to the grahas is somewhat different i.e: Sun = head, brain, right eye, bile, larynx, heart, arteries, veins. Moon = face, lungs, lymph, left eye, glands, tonsils, womb, breasts etc.. [to save time and energy, this late in the day, a full list can be seen at http://jyotishvidya.com/prikriti.htm in the table headed "Graha (planet) and Physiology"] PS: At the risk of breaking a code of silence, the above was taught on the Maharishi Jyotish course some years ago. Guest guest
Dear Renee, Wendy, Balaji, Jiger and List, Thanks for this information shared and your thoughts. As you know I also love to see thoughts and reflections on the significators and appreciate all input on this. I want to add what my book here has but again this is listed in this book versus being directly from quoting a specific scripture. Teeth, upper: Aries - Teeth, lower: Taurus. Renee, as you asked specifically for teeth problems, this book lists: Teeth decayed or abscessed: Saturn, which is pretty much what we might have suspected. Also with growth, if a problem we could look to Sun as Jiger has suggested. 'Teething' in general is listed as Jupiter in this book (perhaps due to children and growth - which both would also include Sun!). It seems to take this wholistic view of all to really get a feel and understanding and the particulars of each individual chart... Wendy, this is an interesting perspective you've shared: As I understand it, the above grahas are responsible (primarily) for the development and maintenance of these bodily tissues throughout the whole body. However the specific body parts (physiology) and associated diseases attributed to the grahas is somewhat different This perhaps helps to understand the differences of the grahas given at different times and from different resources, such as in this case Sun for teeth/bones, and then with respect to problems with teeth, Saturn... As far as houses, 2H is consistently given - hurrah! I like this perspective given by both you, Wendy and Jiger, giving Sun for teeth. For curiosity I checked bones and again this book lists Saturn. There often seems different views like this with respect to bones and also with nerves, and other significators as well. It's good to get this from BPHS and also to hear you were given this via Maharishi Jyotish Course Wendy. I very much appreciate your sharing from this. Kindest wishes, Patrice _______ Dear Balaji, Renee, Jiger and All, Although there is no doubt that 2nd house governs teeth, the graha for teeth seems to be another one of those muddy areas. Guest guest
Well the sun and Saturn (maybe moon too) and 2nd house all fit. During my last sade sate when Saturn transited the house before, during and after my Sun/Moon in the 2nd natally, I was abused starting at a very young age and suffered many a severe head trauma. During this most recent sade sate starting at about 1998 or so...my teeth slowly but surely have either 'died' without any pain or knowledge until they literally crumbled (some of them) to having to have painful root canals. I have about ten crowns and four root canals. Several dentists over the last few years have asked if I ever suffered head trauma in my life which I did for about 7 years and said they are now discovering that those who did either by an accident or otherwise, later in life find the root 'dies' after dying a slow death first of course. The trauma affects the nerve. However I also have decay that boggles many of the dentists because I use the most powerful prescription fluoride available and Prevident which is a rinse they prescribe too. So I went for my last checkup and of course all of the sudden the minor decay is now occurring around some of the crowns and they can't figure out why. More fun I assume from Saturn. I keep repeating Saturn is my best friend...LOL. However Saturn is still in the house after the house that my moon/sun are in (2nd house in Taurus and 3rd has Mercury natally in it) so I'm still going through the 'end' of sade sate. Man I wish I could fast forward a bit. This is driving me nutts!! Yes it could be worse they tell me but it sure has been a long 7 years this last sade sate. Thanks for the info...I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going any crazier then usual. Guest guest
Dear List, Saturn is often linked to problems in regard to tooth. Uneven teeth, ugly teeth, pain in teeth and slighty bigger teeth. (These results are attributed by certain astrological texts such as Jatak Tatwa and Jathaka Alankara. Why they are attributing this... they are silent.....) Regards, C.S. Ravindramani.
Guest guest
Dear Ravindramani and All, In Parashara's "Description of the Planets" it is said that:- "Saturn has an emaciated and long physique, has tawny eyes, is windy in temperment, HAS BIG TEETH, is indolent and lame, and has coarse hair." In Renee's chart Saturn's influence (in regards to teeth) is strong. Occupying Nakshatra of Sun, significator of teeth in 2nd, he aspects lagnesh Mars, dispositor of 2nd lord Venus. Moon, dispositor of lagnesh, is combust in 2nd whilst 2nd lord's Nax lord Ketu is disposited by Saturn. When we consider that Saturn, indicator for (diseases/abnormalities?) associated with teeth, and Sun, responsible for normal development/maintenance of teeth, are bitter enemies, we can understand the difficulties due to Sade Sati associated with 2nd house and Sun...it's a double (triple) whammy in this case with combust Moon dispositing 2nd lord's dispositor, and so forth... The influence/affliction had to be strong to account for the intensity of the problem - as explained by Renee below: >>During this most recent sade sate starting at about 1998 or so...my teeth slowly but surely have either 'died' without any pain or knowledge until they literally crumbled (some of them) to having to have painful root canals.<< Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com - "ravindramani" <ravindramani <jyotish-vidya> Monday, February 28, 2005 4:07 PM Re: Teeth Dear List, Saturn is often linked to problems in regard to tooth. Guest guest
And Saturn is in Mercury's house in the last phase of my sade sate (hurry UP...LOL) with my Merc in Gemini right there. Since Merc rules 'nerves' and the nerves having problems in regards to the teeth....this makes sense. Not sure about Ketu having an influence as my Ketu is in the 11th in Aquarius (saturn's sign). Yuck. The only good thing the dentists have to say is that I caught 'it' quick enough to try to avoid losing all my teeth, believe it or not therefore this long term 'watching' and reconstruction of each tooth as it happens has actually spared me major problems further down the road. Still it drives me crazy to have to be so careful...no candy, no soda, no nada. What did I do in my past lives? Raid all the chocolate in a warehouse somewhere? <grin> Thanks for all your help everyone... Guest guest
Hi Renee, Nice that you were able to move to Maine - beautiful. I moved to Orange County, Huntington Beach, in 6th grade from San Pedro and then at 18 left southern CA and never have lived there again. I was born in 1951 - Orange County was great then while growing up there. I'm now also on the east coast. Guest guest
I lived in Orange, CA from the time I was about two years old and then on and off till I was almost 18. I went to Marywood High School in Villa Park. My stepdad built the elementary school when you go up the hill there on Nohl Ranch Road on the right hand side when you get off the 55 fwy and start up that hill. In Orange, we lived off Hughes and El Carmen and our back fence was right at the beginning of the orange groves and avocado groves that went for miles and miles then. We were there when the fire took it all out. My mom refused to leave and was on the roof watering down the house and saved it. Small world, huh?
