Guest guest
Schapelle Corby, a 27-year-old Australian, faces a maximum punishment of death by firing squad after 4.1 kg of cannabis were found inside her unlocked bodyboard bag at Bali airport last October. Schapelle is believed to have been an innocent victim in an Australian domestic drug smuggling racket between Sydney and Brisbane. The criminals however, did not remove the drugs in Brisbane according to the plan and Schapelle, unbeknown to her, arrived in Bali with drugs that had been planted in her bag along the way. Schapelle Corby is due to have a verdict in mid-May. If found guilty in Indonesia of drug trafficking, she may even face the Indonesian firing squad a short time afterwards. The date of her trip and arrest was 8 October 2004, Denpassar Bali. Her sentence, if found guilty, is set to be life imprisonment and not death by firing squad Birth data: Schapelle Corby was born July 19, 1977 at Royal Brisbane Hospital, Brisbane Queensland Australia 11.55 am - 27S28 153 E 02 - data from her mother, Mrs Clark who owns a shop in Southport. The birth data is from another . Assuming that it is correct I thought I will analyse her Chart to see what is in store for the young lady – Firing squad, Life Imprisonment or freedom. Lagna is Libra with Lagna lord Venus in the 8th along with maraka Mars. Since venus is also the lord of the 8th house and is in his own sign this does not necessarily indicate short life. Jupiter from the 9th aspects Lagna, 3rd (secondary house of Longevity)) and the 5th. Jupiter is in the 9th in the navamsa as well aspecting Lagna, 3rd, 5th and the Lagna Lords of both Rasi and Navamsa. This not only augurs well for longevity but also indicates that the lady is probably innocent. Yogakaraka and ayush Karaka saturn is in the 10th along with the lord of 9th Mercury and the royal planet sun. And sun is vargottama. This again does not indicate short life. But how did this lady get in to this trouble in the dasa of sun – probably because sun is the lord of Badakasthana in rasi and is posited in ari bhava in navamsa. Also the dispositor of sun is the weakest planet in shad bala. May be this is what robbed the vargottama and directional strength of sun. Now to the normal parashara test of longevity: Lagna lord and the 8th lord are in sthira rasi. Short life. Saturn is in Chara rasi and Moon in sthira rasi. Medium life. Lagna is in Chara rasi and Hora lagna in Dwishvabhava rasi. Short life. On balance short life seems to be indicated. The lady currently runs sun-sat-merc. Sun is the 64th navamsa lord, mercury that of 22nd drekanna. Saturn is very closely conjunct mercury. The period is extremely adverse. On the date of her arrest it was sun-sat-sat and in transit sun, Jup, Mer and Mars were all in the natal 12th. The dispositor of both sun and sat, Moon is in badakasthana. Rahu, representing foreigners, was in the 6th. May be it is this combination that got her in to such a predicament. Judgement is expected in mid may when she will be running sun-sat-mars. Sat in transit is in 12th from sun and jupiter in the natal 12th. Rahu will continue to be in the 6th. But sun is in the nakshatra of Jupiter whose position, in my opinion, is the greatest blessing in this chart. So, I believe, she will not face the firing aquad. But because by the time sat moves in to cancer and jupiter in to libra, her period of sade-sati would have started and the dasa periods currently are not good, it seems, the hapless lady may have to spend some time in an Indonesian prison. Rahu leaves the 6th in Nov 2006 when she will start sun-venus. Hopefully she may breathe free then. But, for this to happen, she may need a lot of help sun – the governement of Australia and jupiter – its legal machinery. Guest guest
Dear Venkat, First of all, if your chart details are correct then her TOB is 11.55p.m. and not a.m. Please confirm. Looking at her chart,I am not really very hopefull. She has so many combinations which indicate violent death. Mars a strong Maraka and normally denotes violence is posited in 8th. Lagna lord with Mars. Jupiter, lord of 3rd house from lagna and 8th house from Moon has Mars as it's nakshatra lord. Jupiter is aspected by Mars in navamsa. Asc degree is on Mar's nakshatra. She has just started Moon mahadasa. Moon is aspected by Mars and has house exchange with Sun. Sun is the nakshatra lord of Mars. Let me pray to god for her. Guest guest
Dear Sumit, I have rechecked - I have reckoned 11.55 a.m. I use Lahiri Ayanamsa and the Asc I have is 15 Libr 1. I think you are using Raman's ayanamsa. I agree with you, the dice is loaded against her. But I am pitching my hope on: 1. Lagna Lord is in own house in the 8th. (Mars' presence there is indeed disturbing) 2. Dasa lord sun is in the nakshatra of jupiter. (For you however it is Moon Dasa). The only thing we can do is to add our prayers to that of millions of Australians. Guest guest
Dear Venkat and All, Many thanks for offering this chart Venkat. I wish I had more time to spend on it but unfortunately I'm caught up with other commitments for the next couple of days....just (barely) time for a quick comment whilst I'm here. As we know, law courts/litigation etc are seen from 7th house and, in Schapelle's chart, 7th lord Mars conjuncts/afflicts 1st/8th lord Venus in 8th...accusations and false accusations are seen from this house. Mars, in nakshatra of dasa lord Sun, aspects Sun's dispositor Moon (who happens to be nakshatra lord of lagnesh Venus). Sorry I don't have more time for this at the moment.... Guest guest
Dear Venkat, >>On the date of her arrest it was sun-sat-sat and in transit sun, >>Jup, Mer and Mars were all in the natal 12th.<< According to the time of 11.55am (using Lahiri ayanamsha) I calculate the dasa at time of arrest (Oct 8, 2004) to be SU-JU-VE. Sun and Jupiter were transiting 12th house along with 12th lord Mercury and 7th lord Mars, who, if the time is correct, was sookshmantar lord. Venus PD (afflicted by 7th lord Mars) was followed by Sun PD (who's dispositor Moon is afflicted by Mars aspect). Sun's nakshatra lord Jupiter is transiting 12th in company of Ketu....Jupiter governs Judges, lawyers etc; perhaps we might conclude that his conjunction with Ketu could be a hindrance to 'right judgement'...certainly the judges have not been well-disposed towards her. One was actually reading a book during her final statement and the head judge later said that he wasn't moved by her plea of innocence. Sun PD was followed by Moon PD...note Moon in nakshatra of Ketu, aspect of Mars etc.. the following Mars PD needs no further comment, nor does the Rahu PD. According to my data Saturn bhukti (in dasa of Sun) began Feb 17, 2005. I'll leave it here for now as it's approaching midnight and I'm a little tired... Guest guest
PS: Anyone interested in the case can read more on the following site: http://www.usp.com.au/fpss/case-schapelle_corby.html BTW the prosecution has not asked for the death penalty, so presumably (if found guilty) she faces life in prison. It would be good to study the upcoming dasas in detail to get a better idea of what lays ahead for her. The Australian government has indicated that they could launch an appeal if it's believed her sentence is unreasonable...and the federal police (here) are working hard uncovering these baggage handlers who have been using unsuspecting travellers luggage to transport drugs. _______________________________ Dear Venkat, >>On the date of her arrest it was sun-sat-sat and in transit sun, >>Jup, Mer and Mars were all in the natal 12th.<< According to the time of 11.55am (using Lahiri ayanamsha) I calculate the dasa at time of arrest (Oct 8, 2004) to be SU-JU-VE. That's right, Wendy. You use the more commonly used 'mean sideral year' while I use '360 days savana year' for Dasa calculations. > Sun's nakshatra lord Jupiter is transiting 12th in company of > Ketu....Jupiter governs Judges, lawyers etc; perhaps we might > conclude that his conjunction with Ketu could be a hindrance to > 'right judgement'...certainly the judges have not been well- > disposed towards her. As long as Jup is in Natal 12th she may not get a fair judgement. The case should somehow drag on till Oct 2005 when Jup will move out of 12th house and away from Saturn's gaze. That's the problem Wendy. The upcoming dasas are none too good. First it is that of Moon (weakest in shadbala and under aspect from Mars), then Mars itself, and after that rahu dasa - Rahu is the foreigner in the house of enemies in her chart. She will be 65 by the time Jupiter dasa starts. If Jupiter, nakshatra dispositor of the current dasa lord sun, does not come to her rescue in the months following Oct 2005 (when transit Jupiter moves out of her 12th), I get a feeling, she may have to spend many years in an Indonesian jail. Guest guest
Dear Venkat, >>That's right, Wendy. You use the more commonly used 'mean sideral year' while I use '360 days savana year' for Dasa calculations.<< Please don't follow those who advocate these new vogue concepts. This discussion was had (at length) on the old group when Chandrashekhar was a regular contributor. He, and his supporters, left when I became impatient with his misconceptions, including his unwavering opinion that Rahu was secretive and shy whilst Ketu was worldly and hedonistic. We all struggle through the endless maze of informationn/misinformation initially (which is not made any easier with the erroneous teachings of these self-proclaimed jyotish gurus). Below is an extract from a very good article by Shyamasundara Dasa which I hope to be able to include in the articles section of JyotishVidya.com... *In Matresvara's classical text Phala Dipika the learned author states what length of time is a year for Mahadasa calculations: "Note the exact position of the Sun in the zodiac at the time of birth. When the Sun in the next round arrives at the same position, it is considered as one Solar year which is also the year taken for Udu Dasa system. By sub-dividing the same, days also are calculated." Phala Dipika19.4 Udu Dasa means the system of Mahadasa based on Naksatras, this includes Vimsottari and others.* Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com ______________________________
