It seems that fasting on the day signified by the lord of the UL is a nearly universal advice for any marital problems. I haven't yet come across any exceptions. However, the UL can be placed in the 3rd or the 6th house from Lagna, and therefore in a dusthana. Moreover, the planet lording the UL could also be lording a dusthana. So if fasting were to strengthen the entire house(s) lorded by the planet, then this could be damaging. However this doesn't seem to be the case - since fasting seems always to be recommended. So perhaps it is because fasting is specifically related to the 12th house? That is, fasting on a particular day will only have an effect on things related to the 12th house (or it's arudha)? In this manner the other significations of the house in which the UL is placed would not be affected, while the UL itself would be strengthened. Is there any merit to this? I suppose the answer would be no if there are other instances in which fasting is advised. Are there any such instances? Please aid my understanding by sharing your valuable advice. Guest guest
Dear all, In the same spirit, I had forwarded my question on fasting on the Upapada-lord day at least 3 times in last fortnight to Mr. Sanjay Rath which remained unanswered till date. Scholars may ponder on this issue and give their opinion for the benefit of all. Guest guest
Hi I was reading regarding importance of UL on internet. Following is short note prepared for every1 :- It is arudha-pada of 12th house.that is A12=UL. Also, it is called as "Upapada" and its lord is "Upapapda lord (UL)". The Upapada will show about the marriage partner or a very serious relationship. It shows the nature of the family a person comes from, it shows how the people will relate to each other, and whether the relationship will last or not and what will make it last. The UL lord will indicate the nature of the family of the partner, and therefore will often indicate the status of the partner themselves. The 2nd house from the UL will show the sustanence of relationship/marriage.If the 2 nd is strong, even if the UL has malefics (giving a negativerelationship) the 2 nd house will hold the relationship together. In the opposite case, if there is malefic association in te 2 nd house from UL, it will break the relationship even if it is with a good person and good situation (strong UL). The UL is evaluated to see the situationof the relationship. The 2 nd from the UL is evaluated to see if the relationship will last.A well placed/strong lord of the second from UL will make the relationship last. The sustenance for the relationship will be strong and therefore the union will stay together. rest later... many thanks angel goel ===================

Guest guest
Hi all Krishnan is correct-every house has pada. A1-pada of 1st house A7-pada of 7th house(also called Dara pada) A10-pada of 10th house A12-pada of 12th house (also called Upa pada) Both A7 and A12 are important from marriage perspective.but A7 is used for predicting business partnerships also (all sort of partnerships).A12 is mainly for marriage purpose. For good relationship, UL and its lord must be placed favorably in chart. How does one match Upapadas for determining a good relationship? The Upapada of the native should fall into trines or the opposite sign from the lagna of the spouse for good compatibility as a marriage partner. This gives 4 signs which are compatible for any nativity. If the UL was in Cancer, then Cancer, the other water signs in trine (Scorpio and Pisces) or the opposite (Capricorn) would be compatible lagnas for the spouse. Both the native and the partner should have UL and Lagna compatibility. Incase the UL lord is debilitated in D9 chart then it also shows problems on martial front. THUS,incase of problems in marriage like delays, fasting on UL days is advised. It certainly helps. Example:-UL is cancer for a native [scorpio lagna in rasi chart].UL lord moon is placed in Libra sign (12th house in rasi chart). For marriage purpose,it will help if native can fast on mondays. Shall try to write more on this topic. Comments are more than welcome. thanks angel --- vattem krishnan <bursar_99 wrote: > Apart from there is also pada lagna for every > house?Am I right > krishnan > > angel <angelgoel wrote: > Hi > > I was reading regarding importance of UL on > internet. > Following is short note prepared for every1 :- > > It is arudha-pada of 12th house.that is A12=UL. > Also, > it is called as "Upapada" and its lord is "Upapapda > lord (UL)". > > The Upapada will show about the marriage partner or > a > very serious relationship.
