This shows during what activity you will meet your spouse. I.e. if Upapada is in the tenth, then during work one will meet the spouse. If in ninth then this can happen during higher education. The lord of Upapada also has importance in deciding this. So if you wanto advise a person on how to get married quickly, then look at the house of the upapada, and promote that activity for the person. i.e. if an unmarried person didn’t attend higher education, whilst Upapada is in the ninth, then advise them to start studying soon. Keep in mind however that the upapada cannot be placed in; 1st, 12th, 11th, or 5th, 6th, 7th. This is due to the math involved in calculating the upapada. But do I take Scorpio Lagnesh as my UL because it is stronger? I am 30 years old now and still not married. Your 12th house is Libra, with only one lord, so there is only one UL in Aquarius. You might have two Lagnapadas though, but in this case both lords give the same AL. Your UL looks strong to me with Jupiter. I think Ketu in the 7th house in Rasi and Navamsa is causing the problem. But I'll wait to read Guruji's analysis. If an Upapada is somehow involved in a curse, then the person will see suffering in that relationships. In this case it actually blocked the relationship from happening. She was your first upapada. Well, matching should be done carefully. Lagna matching is important; see you have a predominance of tamasic planets on lagna, whilst she has one of each; satvic (sury), rajasic (budha), and tamasic (ketu). So because of Ketu its ok match intellectually. Also furthermore your lagnas match each others upapadas, so that is all correct. Now, your moons are also well placed showing that your family can indeed support her coming to the marriage. These days this is not so important. One note is that you may have some ego-problems during the relationship, but nothing we can’t cure with fasting. But the Rajiu matching is definitely not good. But this refers more to the ability of the couple to protect each other. The matching here is however also showing that there will either be physical separation during the marriage, or you will have trouble settling down during the relationship. Just for my understanding of astrology though by looking at her chart Moon is in the 7th house from her Upapada. Does this mean that there would be opposition from my Mother for her to marry me? Also Sun, Mercury, and Ketu are in the 12th house from the Upapada. Use said that I have a curse of wife in my chart so this is all happening to me. How about her though, does she have any curses for marriage? My mother had said that there would be a problem with us having children and some other problems. I had asked her if the problem is with me or with her and she had said the problem is With ME ! I looked at my D-7 chart and I feel that I have no problem. From looking at her chart I think she might have some problems but we would still have children. I calculated 3 children. I think that we might have TWINS!!! They would be girls. After that a Boy. Our D-7 charts are also in the same Leo Lagna. What are your thoughts on my analysis? By Jupiter being in my UL does this coincide with her exalted Jupter in Pushya? For example, if Jupiter is aspected by Sa and Ra then it could mean the curse of Brahmin in the past life. For a curse to completely manifest in current life look for involvement of AK and lagna lord. If these two are also involved then the curse will manifest for sure. I hope this helps.
