hi,

I have a doubt over here regarding gem stones. I hope learned People

and other group members will help me. There is a stone called Lajward

(Lapis lazuli). According to me, it's a substone of Neelam (Blue

Sapphire) and represents the Shani (Saturn).

Somebody told me that it's a combined stone for Rahu & Ketu.

Kindly answer the following:

1) Kindly tell Who's stone is Lajward? Saturn or (rahu and Ketu)

2) Also plz tell if one can wear ruby (Manik) and red coral (moonga)

with Lajward (Lapis lazuli)?.

3) Can Lajward be worn by Leo-lagna people (in case of Saturn's

transit, especially during seven and a half year transit of

Sadhesati)?

According to me one should not wear Ruby and Blue Sapphire with

Lajward, as Ruby represents sun, and Lajwad (if i am correct is for

shani).

Please solve my query. It's a request from my side.

regards,

Dear Neeraj,

Many of the substones are a matter of debate. Same applies to the stone Lapis

Lazuli. Some say it is of Saturn as it is blue. Others say that it is of Venus.

The people who advocate it for being of Venus, say that only clear / semi clear

blue stones go to Saturn. But, as Lapis Lazuli is not clear blue, it is of

Venus.

Till today I heard no one telling that it is of Rahu or Ketu. (Than you.)

Now come to my own opinion. I have worn this stone a lot and am totally sure

that this stone can not be of Rahu or Ketu. And my experience shows that it

should be of Venus. I am almost sure about it. And till today in my personal

experience I have found no reason to take it as a Saturn stone.

So as like diamond, this stone should be treated this way like avoid using with

ruby etc. This is my opinion.

For your 3rd question, for Leo natives, both Saturn and Venus are malefics. So

why (Any of) their stone? For Sade Sati, Saturn could be propitiated rather than

strengthening by a stone. Even if it is of rahu-Ketu, the stone of them should

not be worn.

I hope it is clear now.

Best wishes,

Tanvir

Dear Tanvir, Nice analaysis !!!! your answer tempted me to put my query in this.

I 'm also having weak Leo asc. in my chart and I'm always curious about melific

and benific. But never find correct answer. According to my knowledge ..... (1)

for Leo - Sun,Mars and Jupiter are favourable and rest are unfavourable. (2)

Venus is unfavourable for Leo but natural benific (3) Gems helps in

strengthening power of planets, Donations helps decreasing nagative effect of

melific planets, and Mantra can give both kind of effect. so naturally gems for

melific planets should be avoided. Now in my chart venus is in Virgo (hence

weak). So in such case what is the alternate of Diamond. Why I can not wear

diamond? I mean if Venus related things are missing in my life and I want to

achiver those then how can I (or any one) can strenghthen such planets? regards,

Tushar

Dear Tushar,

My reply follows -

>>Dear Tanvir, Nice analaysis !!!! your answer tempted me to put my query in

this. I 'm also having weak Leo asc. in my chart and I'm always curious about

melific and benific. But never find correct answer. According to my knowledge

...... (1) for Leo - Sun,Mars and Jupiter are favourable and rest are

unfavourable.<<

Knowing the benefic and malefic needs a lot study and understanding of the

Shastras. Only BPHS is enough for this. Mostly practice, insight is needed for

best understanding as many malefic planets give good results in some specific

matter for the placement. Similarly a benefic like 9th lord can be bad for some

matters. This needs deep insight ! But mostly "malefic and benefic" concepts are

good for working.

Generally, for a Leo native, remember what MahaRishi Parashar says -

"Grahas and Simh Lagn. Budh, Sukr and Sani are malefics. Auspicious effects

will be given by Mangal, Guru and Surya. Guru's Yuti with Sukr (though,

respectively, Kon and Kendr Lords) will not produce auspicious results. Sani and

Candr are killers, who will give effects, according to their associations."

Mangal is the first class benefic and alone can give a Raja Yoga.

Jupiter pretty good, also depends on placement.

Malefics are Venus, Mercury, Saturn as Parashar Says. Also add Moon.

Sun is also benefic, more than Jupiter that is I consider.

>>(2) Venus is unfavourable for Leo but natural benific <<

Yes, natural Benefic. But so what? This is malefic for you in general.

>>(3) Gems helps in strengthening power of planets,<<

Exactly.

>>Donations helps decreasing nagative effect of melific planets,<<

All say so, I also do beleive. But for unknown reason I always end up

strengthening a planet by donation !! And when the planet I can pacify by

donation, it's good effect is also gone :-(

>>and Mantra can give both kind of effect.<<

A mantra of a planet always strengthen the planet. But the strengthening of

gem and mantra are not same. Hope to discuss this later in details. (That is my

view.) Mantras of Gods help pacifying harm of malefic planets. Please refer to

the mantra section of my website for more info.

>>so naturally gems for melific planets should be avoided. <<

Yes!

>>Now in my chart venus is in Virgo (hence weak). So in such case what is the

alternate of Diamond. Why I can not wear diamond? I mean if Venus related things

are missing in my life and I want to achiver those then how can I (or any one)

can strenghthen such planets?<<

Choosing gem is one of the most sensitive areas of remedies. In your case,

Jupiter gem (Most of the times) should not be prescribed because though Jupiter

rules 5th, never forget it does rule 8th. That is why placement is important.

You should not wear diamond for it is malefic for your ascendant. I only suggest

Mars/Sun gem for you. But if they are fallen then I do not recommened even them.

For venus things missing, you can try pacofying both venus and it's dispositor

(Budha) and strengthen your Mars and Sun. If any of them joins / aspects Venus,

you will see good changes. It is also important to see if Venus is neecha bhanga

or not. Please refer to Sanjay Jee's recent mail on Neecha Bhanga rules from

'Vedic-Astrology' list.

Best wishes,

Tanvir
