Guest guest
Dear all, Sometime ago, there was a query on Rahu and Ketu in this forum. Rahu and Ketu, unlike other planets considered in astrology, have no physical form, shape or size. They are merely two geometric points situated in the zodiac. Let me briefly explain the significance of these points. The Moon, during its motion through the zodiac, moves within ±80 of the celestial ecliptic. Whenever it crosses this ecliptic from the South to the North, the point is called the North Node (Rahu). In the reverse direction, while moving from the North to South, the point is referred to as the South Node (Ketu). Sometime, I wonder if these two points are actually astronomical black holes (containing immense amount of energy). Is that why, such properties have been attributed to these so-called shadow planets. Any way, astronomy aside, these two points always move in an anti-clockwise direction, contrary to the clockwise movement of all other planets. Incidentally, the retrograde motion of planets is also only an optical illusion noticed during their movement through the zodiac. After having analysed the performance of these two nodes, my views on the “pattern” adopted by Rahu and Ketu in offering the results, “in the order of influence”, are summarised as follows: 1. Planets they are conjoined with. 2. Planets aspecting them. 3. Lord of houses in which these nodes are positioned. 4. Lord of the constellation, where these nodes are positioned. Indeed it becomes rather difficult to exactly state which of the above rule are they following at any instant of time. A solution can be found by noting, during their transit, the constellation lord and the sign lord. At the first instance, they appear to give the result of the constellation lord during transit moderated by the factors enumerated above. The following horoscope would provide an interesting study, as the person is currently running Rahu Dasa. Figures indicate degrees-minutes-seconds in various signs: Ascendant Libra 9-43-45 Sun Pisces 6-22-21 Moon Pisces 28-20-57 Mars Virgo 9-58-29 Mercury Aquarius 29-12-27 Jupiter Aquarius 1-45-13 Venus Capricorn 22-18-29 Saturn Leo 21-55-58 Rahu Pisces 14-52-7 Ketu Virgo 14-52-7 DOB 20-03-1950 Place of Birth Dehradun, India Time of Birth: Though the time of birth is said to be 9:15 PM, the above chart has been corrected retrospectively after comparing with the occurrence of actual events that happened in the subject’s life. Balance of Mercury dasa at birth - 2 years 1 month 8 days. He is currently running Rahu-Rahu-Mercury-Sun ends on 23-08-2003. The major problem at this stage is his unemployment. To recount, he was in a very lucrative service abroad but had to quit since the employer failed to meet the contractual commitments; feeling cheated he quit and returned home to India. (He probably travelled during Mars-Moon-Venus-Ketu (has a period of 2 days), 10 days before commencement of Rahu Maha Dasa). (It was not a case of lay off or retrenchment). Since then he has not been able to get any meaningful permanent employment. Of course, he has involved himself in some part time activities, but those vocations also are not yielding any finances and he is continuing to deplete his hard earned savings. The chart has been shown to some renowned astrologers but they have not been able to concur with a satisfactory reason. The only thing they have had in common is that Rahu Dasa would be one of the best periods of his life by virtue of its position in the sixth house (Pisces). He should, at present, have been working in a very senior high position in a good job. Various remedies given by them too have been tried out but of no avail. One went to the extent of saying that all this is due to Pitra Dosha and Kal sarpa Dasha. Apparently there is no Kal sarpa dosha or Pitra Dosha. Am I right? So far a few opportunities did come his way but they all melted away due to some flimsy reason or the other. Loneliness and depressions have become a hallmark of his life at this stage. The question is - would he be able to work again? If so, when and where, if possible? May I have the comments and solutions from learned members of the group.
