Guest guest
~ Om Namah Shivaya ~ Dear Cheng Hiong, May be there is some problem in recitation or pronounciation, because this mantra is of Pra Siddha group and can never do harm. Try *Om Namah Shivaya Om*. So if any pronounciation error is there, it will be nullified. Kind regards, Neeraj Gupta --- pbfsg <pbfsg wrote: > hi, > i am new to this group. Guest guest
Ok ... I was wondering that not knowing about Shiva could be a problem ... are you tensed wondering abotu the effects of the mantra or because you are worried that you dont know what lord shiva looks like or does? Shiva is a god who is known to be the most innocent of the gods ... he grants all desires of people who pray to him and loves them as much as they love him ... hi is blind to the flaws of his devotees ... he is either white or dark depending on what aspect of him you are praying to ... he is most handsome yet simple and unassuming ... he resides on a snow mountain and smears his body with ash .... however lord shiva is the destructive aspect of the universe .... I think its not knowing the mantra/and the god is the reason why you are getting tensed ... Om is supposed to be the primodal sound ... namaha is a word meaning salutations ... shivaya is to refer to god shiva .... If you want to sooth yourself ... then go for Ram raksha stotram ... Vishnu is the most peaceful form of the divine ... try "Om namo narayanaya" and see if you feel tensed ... --- pbfsg <pbfsg wrote: > hi, > i told you already. i got very tense and > uncomfortable. no images or > others. just tense feelings. actually i am a very > tense and nervous > person ahd have abnormal fear of people, and > chanting it makes me > even more nervous. can anyone tell me which mantra > is suitable for me > to chant? > > > , surya > vishnubhotla > <surya_prakashv> wrote: > > Can you tell us what exactly you experience when > you > > chant "om namah shivaya?" ... do you get any > images in > > your head or what exactly happens? > > > > > > --- pbfsg <pbfsg> wrote: > > > hi, > > > i am new to this group. Guest guest
Hi Cheng, I sometimes find when a mantra is powerful it will go in and clean house so to speak and at that time if the body is not ready then there may be some inner resistence. Therefore I was told always start your mantra recitation with Gayatri mantra 3 times and end with the Gayatri Mantra 3 times as well. Then I follow it up with "OM Shanti Shanti Shanti OM" to apply the cooling effects of the Shanti. I find this very helpful my mantra practice and just because I want to be super thorough I always start with Salutation to Ganeshji (Om gum ganpatiye namah). So it may add an extra 4 minutes of so to your mantra discipline routine but it is so worth it. I also found that in the beginning I burned a CD of my entire mantra routine and listened to it along with recitation. and after a while I was able to recite without it. but I still like to listen to it in my car as a nice focal point. Also just as an FYI any mantra for Lakshmi also is soothing and cooling. Thomas Ashley-Ferrand in his book Healing Mantra's advises to break up a 40 day mantra sadhna with a cooling mantra for a couple of weeks before taking up another mantra discipline. I hope that helps. Guest guest
Hi ang cheng hiong, you have to start doing it on all levels. Your physical health, daily routine, studying some good books, chanting a prescribed mantra, some time in nature or with children. Chanting Om Namah Shivay does no harm at all.I am afraid you are chanting it wrong way.Pls go hear it chanted. Chant it in morning and in calm place.See your breath going in and out without doing any extra effort. You can start Pranayam(breathing exercise of Yoga).this will be greatly helpful to you. Do some physical exercise in morning. Go for a walk in Nature. Play with children. It really helps. Hope You will be able to vanish all your miseries......... Wishing you Amit , "pbfsg" <pbfsg> wrote: > hi, > i told you already. i got very tense and uncomfortable. no images or > others. just tense feelings. actually i am a very tense and nervous > person ahd have abnormal fear of people, and chanting it makes me > even more nervous. can anyone tell me which mantra is suitable for me > to chant? > > > , surya vishnubhotla > <surya_prakashv> wrote: > > Can you tell us what exactly you experience when you > > chant "om namah shivaya?" ... do you get any images in > > your head or what exactly happens? > > > > > > --- pbfsg <pbfsg> wrote: > > > hi, > > > i am new to this group.
