Guest guest
Very nice. The truth is that the worst sin, the root of all sins, is to insult ot belittle yourself, while the greatest of all virtues is to resepct the SELF. It does not matter if the world insults you, but you should not insult your own SELF. To look upon yourself as low, as petty, as small, to keep yourself as sinful or bad is to deny the great divinity in you. When you look upon yourself, with low attitude, you will also see the world with that attitude. You will project your own feelings onto others, and then you will see them in the same wretchedness as you see in yourself. Then you will begin to find faults in other people, to look at them with the eye of sin, and to discover impurities in everything around you. Therefore, first of all you should understand your own greatness and and your divinity. Then you will understand the divinity in others. Once you begin to realize that GOD himself dwells within your human heart, once you begin to respect yourself, youb will automatically respect others. Then you will begin to see that the world is very beautiful, and you will behave very beautifully others. The greatest virtue I think, the highest action, and the best from of worship is to look upon other people with the awareness that the SELF is in all. It is only because people lack this feeling of the SELF in others that so many bad things are happening in this world. Because people do not see the SELF in others, there are FIGHTS between Husband and Wife, between Parents and Children, between parties in society. The reason for this is lack of respect for the SELF. A person who sees TRULY sees that no person, creature or object is apart from him. For such a person there is no difference between sentient and insentient objects. There is no such thing as beautiful and ugly. There is no feeling of high and low. For such a person there is only one equality in this universe, and all the virtuous qualities come to him. Only a person who sees this attitude can be called a virtuous person or a great person. Let us all mortals make an attempt to follow at least a fraction of this. Let us try and ignore others weaknesses and appreciate their strengths. let us encourage anyone who takes his or her time to help out others. let us not bring people down or belittle them in front of everyone for you are belittling your own SELF. Let us try and uplift ourselves by spending more time with our own SELF. Things we like to do, things we enjoy. Let us not try and impose our SELVES on others. The Upanishads say that a person is what he thinks. Whatever he thinks is what he becomes. So why have painful and wretched thoughts about your SELF? Why not have sublime and great thoughts? Guest guest
Dear Sanjayji, There are times when an indication or even a slight display of anger or resentment on our part is perhaps necessary to survive or retain our worth. Letting go of the anger in entirely could result in simply being run over or what is worse, just being taken for granted. This cannot be basis for harboring malicious thoughts or doing any intentional harm of course. But maybe, only so much as to maintain our standing in the world? Regards, Saket PS: In one of your earlier posts on love, you'd mentioned that if one loves truly, one must let go. In my experience, whenever I have loved something, I've just wanted to hold on to it against all odds. Seeming paradox, a big learning lesson! --- sanjaytechnology <sanjaytechnology wrote: > Very nice. > > The truth is that the worst sin, the root of all > sins, is to insult > ot belittle yourself, while the greatest of all > virtues is to > resepct the SELF.
