Though I haven't read the sanskrit texts on astrology, I have read some popular books in bengali, which describe the basics very well. I want to discuss some horoscopes with you people (nothing specific though). I can start with my horoscope (as that is the one I know best). But I am highly interested in reading about your analysis of other horoscopes. My horoscope is: Libra lagna. ketu in 5th. venus and mars in 8th. sun in 9th. jupiter, mercury and moon in 10th. saturn and rahu in 11th. I am running main phase of mercury and subphase of venus. Try downloading Brihat jataka. The books by Dr. BV Raman are also good I heard. I personally read from Ranatosh Raha's book. But that is in Bengali. Hope you will be happy to know your future !! Guest guest Posted February 12, 2004 Report Share Posted February 12, 2004 Dear sourangshu, let me first tell you about the bhava lords you have in your horoscope as per Sripati bhava chart. sun:10th lord moon:9th lord mars;2nd and 7th lord mercury:11th and 12th lord jupiter:5th and 6th lord venus:1st and 8th lord saturn:4th lord ketu in 5th bhava,mars in 7th,sun and venus in 8th, moon and mercury in 9th ,saturn and jupiter in 10th and rahu in 11th(as per bhava chakra). At present you are passing through mercury mahadasa. Mercury is lord of 11th and 12th bhava hence malefic. It is deposited in 9th bhava & related through rasi association to 9th bhava lord moon.During mercury mahadasa you will find yourself occassionally unlucky and you will suffer hinderances in pursueing higher education.However mercury is deposited in saturn star lord of 4th bhava in 10th bhava related to rahu in rasi.This combination will always provide you with job though multiple changes(rahu) may occur. Again as you are passing through sani sade sati it is likely all your venutres will be delayed(sani) and you will face many obstructions(sani) your antardasa lord venus is related to mars (maraka) through rasi association and you are sure to face some health problems during this period.This is hightened by venus deposition in mars star. I am totally unaware of your method of analysis. I will try to bring out the things your have got wrong and the things you have got right. Firstly, you are right in predicting the fact about hindrances in higher education. In fact, I have asked this to many people but havent got any satisfactory explanation. Your method seems to be providing an explanation to the fact. But, I am pursuing higher education and is stable here (i.e. I have not switched jobs or places). I thought the hindrance were mostly attributed to sani sare sati. You are correct about health problems and that can also be expected from analysis of rasi chart(association of venus with mars which is a maraka). The strange thing is that I didnt face any such problem in mercury maha dasa and and mercury antardasa. Can you explain this ? Also, I would be grateful if you can make some predictions about the coming sun, moon and mars antardasas. Do you think the association of mars and venus in rasi can be called a rajayoga (1st and 7th lord) ? Can you tell me about effect of this association on my marriage ? " This question of yours made me to to ponder deeply the concept of bhava madhya and bhava sandhi.After studying various websites and the book "A manual of hindu astrology" by late Dr.B.V.Raman and also consulting with my seniors I had found I had some misconcept regarding Lordship of planets.What I have found out that everever the bhava madhya of a bhava falls for considering lordship of planets " Equal House Division" should be taken into account.I that way for all Libra Lagna's irrespective of Different lagna sphuta mercury becomes lord of 9th and 12th , moon becomes lord of 10th and saturn becomes lord of 4th and 5th.This answers your question.
