Guest guest
Sourav Mukherjee, Stammering is more of a Psychological problem. I had similar problem during childhood days and would like to tell how my parents helped me overcome it. Be a patient listener and keep looking into his eyes and nodding your head up/down and make him realise you are listening, dont tell him to hasten or reply fast or put pressure on him to reply back. Tell the same to other people in the house and his teacher and close school mates. I had a similar problem, but i recovered.I went for speech therapy where they told me to learn by heart some 3 poetries. Then i was told to read them when alone for many many times, then as performance improves and smoothness in speech comes on repeated reading they will record the voice and and play to build confidence that "Yes you have no problem, see thats your own recording,Now you dont stammer" Also most important, teach him to talk slowly and in the beginning let him talk to children/babies much younger to him, see he wont stammer. Tell him to read in front of mirror, loudly, take him to terrace and make him read. Only parents can save stammering problems. I am sure he can sing without stammering, if yes then write that song on paper and make him read it. Make him confident that he sings good but why stops in reading, speaking.\ Slowly make him do short plays/scenes of movies at home, give him lead role. Also go with him to play and prevent and teach his everyday friends from de-moralising him. Only Parents can help the child from stammering. Do this for 2/3 months of practice and see the wonders. Then what is remaining is only monitoring once the feeling of stammering is lost. All the Best. Muki , Sourav Mukherjee <me_sourav> wrote: > Dear Sir, > I am Sourav Mukherjee. Guest guest
Thanks Mukesh. We always try to support him but the problem is that he has no confidence at all.
