Hi,

This discussion has gone on for so long that even i feel like

pitching in!!

And as a moon-lover, atmakaraka is moon, 5th house is cancer with

moon, i strongly feel baby pink is the colour of the moon...pink for

a long time has been the colour for baby girls, like pastel blue is

for boys. Pink is feminine, it's a woman's colour, a mother's

colour...when i think of my mother or the feelings she evokes in me,

i see pink...again when i feel blissul and loved i see pink.

pink has always symbolized innocent love...why else is rose quartz

prescribed for easing out emotional disturbances, or for attaining

innocent love?

....again rose quartz is for the moon, if you can't don't want to use

pearls, use a rose quartz is what i've often been told...and i

strongly disagree that pink symbolizes lust...red yes, a really

garish, loud pink perhaps, but not pink, the pink found in blushes

and pearls:)

Venus i think is either white, or green, that i am trying to figure

out! Of all planets, i believe a very strong benefic Venus is the one

that can give complete purity in love! just as a malefic Venus can

give lust!

Mercury is green so i guess venus should be pure white...mars is red

without doubt, i think sun is orange, the reddish-orange of the

rising or setting sun! Saturn is blue and black, two colours, i steer

clear from! Jupiter is that cheerful yellow...for some strange reason

i feel ketu is brown ( i think of ketu as being a jupiter, saturn

conjuntion) and rahu (as a mars and saturn conjuntion) is maroon, but

not too sure!

One of my favourite colours, other than that blissful baby pink is

brown, all shades of beige and brown! could be because ketu in the

3rd house taurus (earthly sign), with exalted but malefic venus dasa

running, i don't know! or perhaps it's the 3rd house things that are

at work, writing and stuff..

Another thing i've noticed is that my favourite colours keep

changing...earlier i used to like red, i went through a maroon time,

when my wardrobe had mostly shades of maroon:) Now it is mostly

browns, but an affection for pink has been a constant!!!!!!!!!1

i don't know if it helps, but that's my two-bit!!!!!!!!!

Dear friends,

The reason I was thinking about pink for Venus and Moon is as

follow :

Venus is Karaka for expenditure and costly items. It also stands for

lust and pink moods.

As we know pink dresses and other articles are all costy. They give

feeling of love and lust. So I thought it to be associated with

Venus.

Moon gets easily influenced by anything. So with Venus, it may also

become pinkish. I think pink pearls are costly jewel. Pink pearl

can easily be associated with Venus and Moon combined.

A very interesting post. I've heard Ketu is brown too. What you say about

pink soothing the emotions is very valid. Just to throw another idea into

the mix, pink is one of the colours for the heat chakra, which in the west

is ruled by Leo, which in turn is ruled by the sun. Interesting! It goes to

show that correspondences can be subjective.

hi,

beg to differ, but pink is for the heart chakra, because the heart

chakra is for love and emotions...again that leads to the moon:) most

reiki specialists use rose quartz for healing the heart charka...in

fact even feng shui recommends placing rose quartz in the bedroom for

finding a romantic partner..frankly i dont see how the pink can be

for the sun, unless the pink is really red!

Well, it's diluted red isn't it. But seriously, I'm not disagreeing with

you, I'm keeping an open mind. I find that if you adopt a set of symbols and

believe in it, it will work for you. Before studying jyotish, I would have

given pink to Venus (though not the Moon). I would also, incidentally, have

given red to Mars, not the sun. It's strange for me coming from a long

background in western astrology and magical techniques, then finding that in

Vedic astrology some things are the same and some are very different.

Hi,

pink is diluted red, but red with white...more white than red...with

perhaps white lending purity or santicity to the aggresive red, red

is also desire and lust! so what u get is pink, i guess....the baby

pink..actually the pink i wrote about earlier is baby pink:)

It's strange for me coming from a long

i know what you mean...half the time, i can;t figure out if emerald

is for mercury or for Venus...because for a taurean according to the

sun sign system...emerald is the recommended stone! but we know it's

different in vedic astrology! i think the trick is to follow one

system! same with religion too...i think it was swami vivekananada

who said that follow one religion but practice it to perfection, even

while being open to the others...mixing issues complicate things and

lead us nowhere:)

Before studying jyotish, I would have

> given pink to Venus (though not the Moon). I would also,

long...

....i would still give red to mars and sunrise orange to the sun...a

benefic sun...sunrise orange would be more saffron and that somehow

seems more sun than the aggressive martian red...sun also seems more

concerned with the affairs of the soul than of the heart!

....but don't u think a malefic sun would be more red than orange?

just wondering...how fickle these colours are!

> What color is Rahu?

...

not too sure, but maroon is what i feel...rahu for me is something

like saturn and mars combined....gives strong desires and delays:)

so if i mix the colours of mars and saturn (red and black) u get

maroon...there was this sub-period of rahu when i used to wear mostly

maroons, intuitively...so...

....again not too sure:)

But it's also valid to find the middle ground sometimes. At the moment I

find it hard to enjoy western astrology , because Vedic gives me more

precision - but I know that I can still read someone intuitively just by

glancing at a western chart, while I'm still not able to be so intuitive

with an Indian chart. Well, until Geovision releases the Mac version of

their software, I have to rely on western astrology as I don't have Vedic

software since switching from PC to Mac. I think both systems have much to

give. I've studied one for 30 years, now I'm learning the other. I think

jyotish will be my main form of astrology eventually, but I don't intend to

shut the door on western astrology as it has some worthwhile techniques ,

such as the use of the outer planets, which I feel can be valuable.

I didn't mean heart as in romance etc but more in the sense of the centre

(the heart chakra unites upper and lower chakras), just as the sun is the

centre of ...well...the solar system, that which drives us - so yes, soul,

but soul with love, the universal constant...again not romantic love but

unconditional love, compassion etc.

I think your reasoning for the sun's colours is very apt. LOL I'm sitting

her looking out of my window at the grey English sky and wondering howe

anyone could think of the sun as malefic ;-)

Without any doubt it is Ash, may be there are other colours too.

Well, some scriptures link BLUE with rahu, but to my mind royal blue

should link to venus I guess, and other blues like aqua, navy blue

etc. all are saturn. Rahu is ash that I see clearly from my

experiences, and also later I knew that I am correct because rahu is

smoke and fumes...

Tanvir.
