Is astrology prediction is really failing?

Unlike when we talk about science,as science is based

on hard evidence,they are proved by there

physical,chemical and biological means.

Even science has proved that when saturn is near to

earth

that time rain is not good,even some new disease rises

etc.

While jupiter is near to earth than good crops,rain

etc.

 

However astrology is totally based on research that

has been made by great great Munis,pandits.Who never

physcially had gone there and find out.But as lord

vishnu

has said that whole universe is within yourself,if you

analyse that,than you have done everything.

 

But than why jup+rahu been told as big dosa,and person

should be living as if he is living in a hell.this was

although happening before time.

 

but why than in kal yuga,all this has change,Nature

can never change.but today if we see big big

industrialist,politicians are having this yoga nad

living a most comfortable life.I have seen many

horoscope where jupiter exalted,even saturn

exalted.Totally benefic but living a very simple life.

 

I guess answer for these is that,how much a person is

enjoying a things that he is having.For example say

Jup+Rahu percon might be a big person in this

world,but he will never able to enjoy his comforts.But

person let say my father is having sag ascendant,and

jupiter in his own house in 4th.since last 20 years I

am seeing,He stays at home most of time,lives life

happily,as money required it comes.Every afternoon he

comes an eat at home.so he is enjoying his life,While

other might be well know politician ,but won't be able

to enjoy life.

 

So is astrology prediction is really failing?

Dear,

Who says Jup+Rahu will make you hell.

It depends which house they belong and where posted.

If jup is giving beneficial results it will be enjoyed in Rahu

periods to full extent.

Some times old text book yoga and shloka are confusing and

contradictory, so go by first principles.

Some comments on this very interesting topic.

 

Some people insist that jyotish is a science <shastra> the current

body of which reflects thousands of years of painstaking research by

sage-seers of yore. If this is true, how come we have such a well-

preserved (if not complete) body of conclusions and bottom lines but

not a single shred of the working documents, charts, birthdata that

this enormous edifice of research must have generated over thousands

of years, in words spoken or documented? Very strange, this

selective preservation that we see today!

 

Others are absolutely sure (!) that jyotish is a revealed vidya,

channeled by sage seers of yore, and hence here in the current shape

and form, some of which is subject to misinterpretation and error.

 

Physics and Chemistry, biochemistry, pure sciences came to mankind

as a combination of hard work, research (all the experimental

evidence and documentation that exists) but there is also a revealed

element to it, examples: Some if not all of the theory of relativity

was intuited (and is still being proved/disproved after the

statement of the theory), the structure of DNA and of benzene

molecule came to the scientist in a reverie, a flash of intuition.

Indeed, most of the significant discoveries in science are due to a

lot of hard work combined with an 'intuitive (revealed)' lift, a

paradigm shift!

 

If we had at least a few of the working documents, some horoscopes

some data left behind by the sages, I would have taken the thousand

years of plodding research theory more seriously. Other than a few

half-mentions of charts in Satya's writings (around Buddha's times)

much of documented jyotish is remarkable by its absence of data and

examples.

 

In recent times, many new techniques are coming to surface, mostly

due to a combination of revealed (from gurus to chelas, hence

revealed, not Revealed!) followed by some research. It is all good,

but if we begin to use too many factors, there is the danger of one

or the other factor explaining any given event or trait and thus

losing its predictive significance. With many techniques available,

it is easier to retro-fit events with a horoscope but when looking

at a blank, cold reading (predicting future) the multitude of

techniques actually ends up being confusing and distracting for most

individuals since they cannot figure out which set of rules to

follow.

 

Regarding your point about two individuals with a superficially

similar jupiter, or similar gajakeshari yoga or whatever

experiencing different fates, it is an interesting and oft-seen

confusing situation. Often a deeper look into the 'actual' state of

jupiter (strength, association, awasthas, relevant dashas running at

the time) are all important players that often reveal the story. I

have recently submitted an article from my jyotishvani cd (Maya in

the horoscope) for publication at a couple of usual sites which

looks at one aspect of this kind of situation: the difference

between what one experiences a situation vs what others think one is

going through!
