It pays to listen fast because the messages otherwise just get louder and bigger. How is the stress trying to help you? Urgent,-- get recharged,--get help/support,-- go for meditation, -- work smart not hard, --etc. What I am thinking what it all means in astrological terms. Can stress be related to Planet Mercury. Or Adverse configration/positioning of planets relative to Lagna/Moon in a native chart or during transits. Or operative periods of Dustasthanas . What do you think dear friends. Stress used to be called strain in old days (perhaps the growth part is less now as the pressure mounts!). While nearly everything can lead to stress in susceptible individuals, one can safely state that the effects are felt more when there is a discrepancy between expectations and abilities in a given situation. Any one planet may not necessarily be involved but here is a short rough approach: 1) We would need to identify charts of easy-going stress free individuals 2) And, charts of those that have undergone lot of stress, both the quick and sudden type as well as the chronic, ongoing type. 3) Using the vimshottari dasha or other flavour of choice, one needs to study the planets associated with the periods where stress was experienced as well as periods that were stress free. 4) Studying of these in the charts and areas represented by those can lead to some meaningful answers, I hope. Then it can be fine-tuned as the study proceeds. Lets us analyze them one by one - Stress is an information A medical info first before we induldge in astro aspect. The hormone cortisol, secreted by the adrenal glands, is often called the "stress hormone" because its levels rise following physical and emotional stress. Abnormal blood cortisol levels can result in metabolic disturbances and in severe cases may lead to life-threatening illnesses. Now the main thing here is that this hormone is more than a simple marker of stress levels- it is necessary for the functioning of almost every part of the body. Excesses or deficiencies of this crucial hormone are also lead to various physical symptoms and disease states. Now coming to the astro aspect, Stress is indeed an information. It can be found to be co-related to the so called bad phases in life. Now this stress is information in a sense meaning that something is wrong or something is not on track. Hence we tend to think a lot in such times, the reasons can be anything and so do effects of it(be it emotional or physical). -Use it We all have different capabilites and capacities. An explaination to using stress could pertain to self healing(which varies from person to person). The advantage of using it lies in the fact that if we are able to come out of it, we are stronger in the long run or else vice versa will happen and stress will emerge to be stronger in future also. - Listen to your stress, dont block it. This relates us to an important aspect- "everything in life has opposites". Once we try to define the stress it may seem extremely harmful(when in excess). Now the main point here is that we should see the other face of the coin also. Stress is also termed as misplaced effort and hence by listening to it we are doing things in a different manner. Also by not blocking it we are evolving us into a world were we know that some bad time is going on but still the efforts are in positive direction. Hence the hidden meaning is self realization which is equally important in any kind of scenario. Stress takes away the energy needed for healing. Indeed strange but a small example would be a case where a person doesnt realize he is stressed out and leads into one problem after another. One of the most difficult question. Can stress really do help us? The answer will be yes but once it is at normal levels. Remember the times when are coupled with challenging situations with deadlines. The end result once we are finished with the assignment(on deadline) is relected on individual`s personality and his day to day routine energy levels. But once in excess, stress can only make you look even more stressed out. But the positive side would be we strive towards stress relieving methods like Meditation etc but this depends from person to person. - Can stress be related to Planet Mercury. It would not be correct to relate stress to any particular planet. There are a host of factors which needs to be taken into account. I think it may not be practical to find out stressed persons for astro analysis. Stress and strain ,in engineering,are two different but related words. If we subject some body/material/structure to some outside force, it will cause stress to that material. This stress will cause some deformation in the material to cope up with the stress. This deformation is called strain. A brittle material say chalk stick if stressed will break immediately as it is not straining but other materials will strain to survive. Rohiniji and Garauvji conclude that we can not assign 'stress' to any one planet.Now how I am thinking it is like this: If we are in stressful condition, we can get relief by several means. Rational thinking,--the persons who have right thinking [ good positioning of Mercury in chart] can rationalise the situation, and reduce the stress. Some benevolent help from outside [in chart good aspects to Mercury?] may help situation. Meditation-- here you suspend all the thinking [very difficult offcource], concentrate on your body, head or breathing etc, it would help. Here functions of Mercury planet is suspended. Zero thinking. Tao flow-- let the situation flow, dont strain nervous system [ Mercury] Go to psychic/dreamy/emotinal word { although Mercury is not comfortable in such word of Pisces rasi} and get lost temporarily or for longer duration. Mind is ruled my moon and moon with malefic or placed in dussthana can cause stress. Isnt that right?
