Although you stated that my suggestion to study this in a few

charts was impractical -- I disagree :-)

I have no problems with or aversion towards free-associations in

the process of figuring out, but charts keep us somewhat on track

and the danger of going out too far afield is reduced. Ultimately,

the purpose of the figuring out would be to apply in charts during

analysis, so why not start with those even while free-associating.

 

But to each his own devices and preferences.

 

Everything is information in a sense, so stress too probably can be

seen as information; however it is information that comes to us

through the emotional intelligence or emotional channel hence should

be looked at as a feeling (bad feeling actually ranging from

nervousness to deep paralysing fear in the susceptible). Mercury is

probably the channel of linear, logical information one can say while

moon is the other channel of perception, the emotional/affective

channel. Stress primarily affects the consciousness or awareness as a

change in feeling (could be mental or may be perceived as headache,

indigestion, and other means). Stress is often not felt as such

because of mental defenses such as repression, denial etc. and

surfaces as symptoms of feeling and sensations, etc.

 

Hence the strength of moon as a good protection against stress makes

sense. The second defense of intellectualization, understanding the

cause of stress etc would be mercury's domain but that comes later --

after the irrational feelings die down or are controlled.

Dear Rohini ji,

 

Greetings.

 

Thanks for setting confusions to rest. In just one one statement

"Stress is a Feeling" you have given the essence.

 

Mind or Manah or our Thinking Faculty is akin to Duryodhan or

Dushasana (difficult to conquer)of Mahabharata and is so difficult to

control and thus the whole battle(inner) of Mahabharta and the Great

Message of the Gita.

 

Mind and its associations with the world through senses is the reason

of human misery and thus the lofty goal of Yoga for conquring Mind/Moon.

Dear Rohiniji,

In the most of the relaxation techniques currently flooded in the

market and also as told by our great Yogis, the best method to

relieve stress is to stop thinking and start feeling.

You feel your pains, your body, your thinking process,your

breathing, your headache,etc etc and your stress will be reduced or

controlled.

You have to suspend thinking and concentrate on feeling.

But it is very difficult to controll that little fellow called

Mercury and hence thinking and hence STRESS.
