Guest guest
Dear Tanvir, friends, all: What I love about Jyotish, or Astrology, even modern science, is...that we don't really even have to believe that these things are coming from past life times, if we don't want. It's almost enough, that our charts fit us. So, for whatever the reason, (though of course I, too, believe in past lives),...still... once we see that there is a direct correlation between our charts,,....and our lives... I call it the '1 to 1 Correspondence'.... There's literally a 1 to 1 correspondence between all the details of our lives, our heighth, our personality... our mind sets, our emotional nature,... etc... on and on... each area of our life, even can be found clearly, predictable, from our charts... Jyotish, then, is like this really profound, genetics,... in other words, genetics, scientists, believe there is a 'gene' explanation for everything too... and their hope, as it should be in Jyotish,...is once we know the genetics, 'mapping', then, we can seek to improve any faulty or undeveloped genes that we might be born with... It doesn't matter whether our genes are caused by previous births, what really matters is that 1 to 1 mapping, and the ability, to change and improve our genes! Jyotish is this perfect, ancient wisdom, that has known about this literal 1 to 1 'mapping' for 1,000's of years... And today, thanks in part, to such groups as these, 'Jyotish Remedies'....... now, Jyotish, and remedial measures, are being sorely, emphasized again! When I first started studying Jyotish over 16 years ago, you'd pick up any book on eastern astrology and there would be 195 pages on the Jyotish, and at the end, almost tacked on, like an after thought, would be 5 pages of remedial measures... Today, we're in the middle of a huge revival of the importance of this remedial aspect of Jyotish. So, like genetics, it doesn't really matter whether our charts, and lives are caused by the past. What really matters is the ability to improve our Cosmic, Jyotish, genes! One of my insights re. Jyotish has been that the Malefics, in our charts, are not just symbolic of the problems and mistakes, and sufferings, we'll have to endure,... they also represent the specific planets, (like genes), that need to be improved, especially in order to improve that part of our lives, and chart, where that malefic planet is. Take Mars in the 7th for example. It's definitely, symbolic of challenges in domestic, marital life. And though most of the time, people just throw up their hands and say marry someone else with Kuja dosha.... In this new light of remedial measures, we can see, that if Mars could be improved, .... balanced or strengthened... then, we might be able to effect the very important part of our lives dealing with marriage, relationships and partnerships, of all kinds... I also like looking at Jyotish in terms of Psychology. To me, Jyotish is pure 'Vedic Psychology'.... So, not only does Mars represent hardships, disagreements, fights, etc. with 'mates'.... but Mars also represents our fire element, our action sense, and our agressive tendencies. In the future, Vedic Psychologists, will see configurations like these, and then, encourage the 'person', to change those patterns within themselves, that they feel are important or necessary to act that way! Then, we can look to such great Vedic sciences like meditation, yoga and Ayurved, to help us eliminate even very frustrating habits and mental patterns, though they often seem, very fixed, and permanent, they are in fact,.... our creations, and therefore within our control...to change... It would be fun, to take some time, in the future, to look at the Sun and each planet and come up with a series of very specific Psychological 'remedies' that might be able to help a person, re-program their malefics,....into strengths! We live as per our destiny. In good times every thing goes right and you get every thing. When you are running a bad period , even your best friends would cause some harm to you and you are physically and emotionally drained. We can see this through Astrolgy. But the things which comes to my mind again and again is whether the theory of Karma [our fortune or misfortune are the results of our actions in previous births] is authentic or bogus. Human population has grown from one billion to six billion in last 100 years. That means about 500 billions first time created indivisuals without any merits/demerits accrued from the past. How traditional theory of Karma applicable to them ?! I feel that Divine creates each of us by random. In the expanding universe small particles like our lives are created with some random selection. There may be some rules/nature/divinity in such randomness but it should not be law of Karma. Manoshi must be right in saying that we have to accept the life as it comes. Life may be emerging out of nothingness only to go back into nothingness after brief earthy sojourn. Inder ~!
