Guest guest
Dear KAD, pranam! It is a pleasure to discuss with you, as you are really learned in shastra! I agree fully agree with you. Nobody should be converted in ones belief, against the own will. Krishna in the bhagvat geeta says it would be a sin to preach to someone, that doesn't want to hear. No to speak of trying to convert someone. Usually behind this only is material profit thinking, which is a sign of bodily conception of life. You are right, my Grandma's belief and faith in Jesus were strengthened when her life was prolonged by prayer, although she had prayed to Siva. But not only her belief and faith was strengthened, also MINE, believe me. Maybe my text was a bit confusing, as English is not my native language, and some expressions might be wrong. I wrote in my message that I had turned away from Christianity. Many people could see this negatively. Nowadays people think black/white, either you are for a thing or are against, no path in the middle. I didn't turn away because I was against Christianity or disrespect Jesus, but because this religion, this path did not fit my nature. I had studied all kinds of religions and philosophies, and decided for the one which I practise today, as it fits best my nature and I can most easily follow this one. In the different religions I see spiritual unity and diversity. And with my message I wanted to inspire the people, and I replied to Rohiniranjan's message, where he gave the example that many cynics think mantras and prayers are merely a kind of placebo effect, or only work when one believes in them, and there is no real God, because if there was one, there would have been a positive change in the world, as so many people do pray daily. I humbly apologize to the ones, who might have felt offended or disturbed.
