Dear All,

The 8 charakaraka system is a principle preferred by Jaimini, though both

Jaimini and Parasara accept the existance of two schools of thought. (Rath)

Planets with the same degrees (but different minutes) may alow a charakaraka

replacement during the person's life time.

Hello Members;

Parasra's support as follows:

"

Ravyandi Sani Paryanta bhavanti Saptakarakaha;

Amsaim samyam grahaih dwou cha Rahum tangunayodwijaha"

Rahu supplies gap formed when two or more planets hold the same longitude.

To avoid sharing of the of the lordships by two or more planets an exception

has been provided in the jaimini and accpeted by parasara.

Is this not clear enough to conclude karakas are only seven.
