Dear Sridgar & All:

We should let examples of people's charts and lives, confirm for us, the

reality as to this

discussion.

There are of course, many rules and principles in Astrology, however, all

the rules kind of fall away, when you're faced with looking at all of them

together in the life of any individual.

Then, you not only have to look at each part of the person's chart, but you

also have to see how the different, various principles overlap and influence

each other.

There are so many exceptions then, regarding these same rules, that I think

it would be better,

not to get too fixated on whether Mars in the 2nd is in fact, kuja dosha or

not; and instead use the broad principles of Astrology to figure out whether

the person has imbalances with Mars or not.

This principle of benefic and maleficness, itself, is a great powerful tool

of Astrology's, and there's a much simpler way to understand whether any

planet is being malefic or not!

Ask yourself whether the individual is experiencing any of the negative or

malefic qualities of that planet and there will be a good possibility that,

'that' planet is functioning malefically. If someone's having difficulties

with relationships, and fights, arguements, and/or difficulties with anger,

etc., these are all classic Mars symbolisms and probably Mars is acting

malefically.

The fact that 'that' Mars may be also in the 2nd house, is important but not

as important as the fact, that the person should take heed about the

symbolism of 'Kuja dosha', and figure out how Mars, itself, can be mellowed

out, and softened.

There are examples, of course, of individuals with even Mars in it's Own

sign, even Exalted, who are still having many problems associated with this

planet.

This shows that not only is it important to understand and be in-tune, or

have strong, realitie's of the planets, however, it's also true that we

should learn the importance of all the planets, simultaneously and

especially learn how to coordinate and harmonize, their various natures and

functions.

For example both Adolph Hitler and Saddam Hussein had Mars in strong signs,

along with their Sun's in Aries. Hitler had Mars in Aries, in his 7th

house, and Hussein 'has' Mars in Scorpio, in his first house. However, both

those supposedly good Astrological qualities, didn't do them a lot of good,

and certainly not others!

That's why you'll hear sometimes, Astrologers and Astrology scholars talk

about how the 'malefic' planets like Mars & Saturn, even if they're strong

and/or in their Own Signs, or Exalted, still, can lead to a lot of mischief,

suffering and grief.

I can't tell you of the number of people who have had, Exalted Saturn's in

their charts, and for many reasons, ended up having exalted grief!

Not only is it important to understand where and when, Mars can have a

detrimental effect on others, especially in terms of the relationship,

partnership or house of Marriage; however it's also important how we

integrate our Marish natures, into the realities of the other planets.

Also we should be talking about how we can mellow out and transform our

'Mars's... into more healthy and life-supporting realities, especially if we

have that dreaded, 'kuja' dosha.

Coincidently both Hitler and Hussein's, both, had, Mars Kuja dosha, Hussein

with Mars in Scorpio, in the lst house, and Hitler had Mars in Aries, in his

7th house, inspite of their Mars' being in their own Signs.

Both of them, of course were strong warriors, though without other, softer,

more life-supporting Astrological realities, both these men were very

'cruel' and made a mess of life; both their own as well as others.

Sincerely,

Mark Kincaid

Mars/8th house?, > Mark Kincaid

I bagree with what Neeraji says. In the North India Mars in 2nd house is not

considered as Mangala Dosha. In South it is, and in south they not only

count the houses from Lagna, but also Moon, and Venus !!! So for southerners

it may be diffcult to escape this Dosha !
