Can you please tell me if an emerald is suitable? I have just bought a 1.9 carat emerald and am going through a testing period. Mercury also happens to be the Badhaka for my lagna. Venus is in lagna,reaching exalted position,however as a planet is not beneficial.Mercury being 4th and 7th lord is also not beneficial. We normally donot strenghthen malefic planets,we have to propitiate,parihar is recommended eg fasting on wednesdays,prayers to Lord Satyanarayana etc. As your Lagna lord Jupiter is in Kumbha ie 12th house and hence weak,please strengthen.vamsa position is not very encouraging due Rahu. It is believed in some quarters this period is good for marriage, because Saturn is required to cause disturbance in life and marriage is a good outcome. Mercury happens to be the fourth and seventh lord, also running mercury sub-dasa. also Mercury is my birthstar...aslesha as per rasi and revathi as per lagna...given that is it still bad? it is positioned in 2 house with sun...I was told mercury is combust that that is why it needed to be strengthened.
