Meaning:

Taking the eight flowers in the way to take,

coming to the Lord of eight, the Beginning-less

and offer - this is those who reach the

foot of the Lord of thiruvadhikai vIraTTAnam.

Notes:

1. shivArchana chandrika and Agamas describe

on this aShTa puShpa worship. It is stated that

if one is not able to perform complete worship,

at least the offering of these eight flowers should

be done.

2. aTTa puTpam

a. Offering of eight flowers chanting the eight

holy names of the Lord - bhava, sharva, IshAna,

pashupati, rudra, ugra, bhIma, mahat.

(bhavAya dEvAya namaH ....)

b. Eight flowers in internal worship are

kollAmai, aimpoRiyaDakkam, poRai, aruL, aRivu,

vAymai, thavam, anbu.

c. Eight flower types good to offer to God are

punnai, veLLerukku, caNbakam, nandhiyAvarththam,

pAdhiri, kuvaLai, alari, cen^thAmarai.

3. This complete padhikam is devoted by the saint

on the offering of aTTa puTpam.

4. aTTa mUrththi - God present in eight things -

sun, moon, fire, earth, water, air, sky, soul.

5. Those who do this worship reach the Feet of

Lord shiva, affirms our saint.

6. aTTuthal - to shower.
