Guest guest
Hi all, There is this discussion about marana karaka sthana of mercury happening on the vedic astrology list. Since the folks here are more helpful than folks there, I thought I should ask my doubts in this list, so here goes: 1)Why is 7th a marana karaka sthana (MKS) for mercury? The 4th makes more sense, because mercury stands for intellect and education, so mercury in 4th would be something like jupiter in 5th, sun in 9th etc. If mercury in 7th is indeed MKS, what effect would be expected with mercury in the 7th? 2)Is MKS commonly taken into consideration while making predictions, or is it something that only Jaimini astrolgers consider? It seems that people with MKS in their charts don't seem to notice it a lot. So is MKS something like KSY or is it something established? 3)How is MKS considered to play out? Some people interpret it as "killer", others interpret it as death of karakatwa, with lots of hand-waving on which karakatwa is affected -- planetary, bhava, house, all three. 4)What would offset MKS? Thanks for any help! Ram
