Should it sound like a bold "S" (like in Short, Ship etc.) or should it sound like a thin "S" like in Salt, Soft etc. Please guide accordingly. Pranams, Shankar. Guest guest Posted July 9, 2005 Report Share Posted July 9, 2005 Mr Shankar, For Ex: Shri/Sree Suktam when written the letter sree(used for name sarat) is same in any laguage(be it Devnagari or Dravidian scripts).only thing the pronounciation as Sharat (for name Sarat) is spell out.otherwise it is Sree only but not Shri(Shree) is not correct.
