Guest guest Posted July 20, 2005 Report Share Posted July 20, 2005 Respected Learned Members, In continuation to the efforts and the begining made by our learned Mr. Tripathy regarding the utilisation of the group for the academic study of astrology, I would request the group to share their veiws on the various theories adopted while suggesting a remedy. To start with I would like to present my opinioin on the matter. Its my opinion only and the logic "I" keep in my midn while suggesting the remedies and I dont have any classics backing the same. May by learned members can throw some light on it. How to suggest a remedy, 1. Remedy shall be suggested in case the malefic planet is too strong or heaviliy afflicting a particular house. In such a case the remedy for propitiating the malefic is to be suggested. 2. Remedy may be suggested if a benefic is too week to deliver the promise made by the planet. In such a case remedy to stregnthen the subject planet may be suggested. 3. Gems/Stones may be suggested if the benefic planet is to be strengthened and for propitiating the malefic planet, Daan, Jaap, mantra, yajna may be suggested. Yajna can also be suggested in case strengthening of the planet is to be required. 4. If the subject planet is in a airy sign, mantra may be suggested. If it occupies the watery sign daan, offering water to the diety of the planet or throwing (i know its the correct word, but please pardon me) articles in the river. It the planet is in a earthy sign gems/stones may be suggested and if it occupies a fiery sign yajna may be suggested. Point #4 discussing the nature of the remedy was new to me and was something I would accept. I was just curious about where it is mentioned in the scriptures, or whether a guru told you so. A gemstone imposes more effect of the planet up on you and not changing the position of the planet. Weak benefic planet should be addressed by gemstones as you receive weak energy from the planet but weak energy might be trippled and that would be good, it is like this. Similarly a well placed benefic is already giving the benefits and to maximize the benefits you can wear the stone too and it will give much more benefit that the weak benefic one. Weak benefic planet's stone will reduce the "poverty" or "lack" caused by the planet while strong benefic planet's stone would amplify the plentiness offered by the planet. So both are necessary. So *most of the times* the benefic planets' stones can be suggested. The exceptions are like - 1. A very seriously ill placed benefic will cause some slight problems in addition to good if addressed with stones. But in this case the benefits are much needed and the problems will be very small to accept. 2. Caution should be taken to suggest the stone if the benefic also rules a malefic house esp 8th. Also we do underscores importance of: Mantra and yajna are best kind of remedies that can be suggested for either malefic or benefic planets. That is one of the advantages of them. So you are right in advocating in an understandable befiting way to the zealous tribe. probably these realisations have to come over the years when theories do not give results and only lead to further lack of fulfilment of wishes. To strengthen remedies more than the advice of the Astrologer,the seriousness of the person to find his way improvement of the position has to be concentrated (to part any advice). No short cut methods(including gems/stones) give desired results.
