hello friend,

there seems to be some mix up in the question.In our suject we consider

prithvi/earth as tatva/swabhava/nature.

such tatava/nature can never be good nor bad for that matter.earth/earth for us

to live and understand.like fire we like or not it is there in nature.

so earth or prithivi is part of pancha tatwas and we have to be there with

whether good or bad.where as grahas or planets also have these swabhavas and

tatwas like humans.while planets influence,man on earth also gets influenced

with these tatwas.some of these are good and some may not be.bot no exception

except put up with them.i do not think without considering prithvi or study

about palnets would be of utility.planets or navagraha are good and bad in our

way of looking at them.each planet has role to play whether it favours us or

not.All the four elements of dharma.artha kama and moksha are experiences that a

human gets through these planets.to experience we have taken birth on this

planet earth and is considered as the best form of janma

hi,

 

thank u for the reply.but let me clarify my doubt.what

i mean is purily in terms of astrology.when we say

navagraha,is earth counted one of the grahas in our

navagraha pujas?when we make birth charts we seem to

be placing all planets in the chart except our very

own planet.i want to know the reason why?we think of

mars,mercury etc which are so far away from us.then

why not earth-it is also a planet right?

 

im raising this doubt in terms of astrology where we

talk of planatery position-that earth doesnt count in

there planatery position.why?when we say

navagraha-earth doesn seem to count in the concept.

Prithvi or earth is karma bhoomi an avatar of sreelakshmi wife of maha

Vishnu.where as nine planets are creations of viswakarma/indra.

First for every thing Bhoo devi as earth will be worshipped,then other

palnets.Kuja is putra of bhoo devi.Nine planets and bhoodevi earth can never be

of same origin.we know of palnets as it will be Geo Centric approach.otherwise

their experiences and influnces will never be the same and question of

navagrahas will not be there

Dear friend,

Considering from pure astrological view point,

 

1.The influence of our Earth is certainly counted in astrology by

considering LAGNA as the most important point

in the horoscopy.

2.The HORO-scopy is entirely dependant on HORA or hour, which is due

to rotation of the Earth on its axis!

3.The starting point of the day, SUN RISE happens because of the

Earth's rotation resulting in UDAYA LAGNA, weekday etc.

The sidereal system of Hindu astrology exists because of

the EARTH's rotation!

4.The phases of MOON, waxing and vaning are purely due to the shadow

of the Earth on it!

5.Though in usual charts, the Earth does not appear, since the chart

is geo-centric, its position is taken into account

in calculating PANCHANGA and accesories. For example, Sun's

entry into constellation ARIDRA is an important epoch and

its effects are well described in any standard hindu

almanac. BUT what actually is being considere here? not SUN but

the EARTH, as it enters the constellation MULA, the ORIGIN

of our universe(accepted by science to align with galactic centre)

ie actual completion of one full revolution of the EARTH,

from Mula to Mula. This point is important for caculating

monsoon, agro-social events etc.

6.Without the Earth's orbit round the Sun, it is impossible to

calculate Rahu or Kethu!

 

So, indirectly we are 'using' our planet in horoscopy. It does not

appear on chart, since it is kept at the centre

of the system to observe the influences of other heavenly bodies ON

IT and ON ITS INHABITANTS. When man goes on the

Moon or the Mars, the Earth appears in the chart!

All these scribblings should set the doubt/clarification fully cleared and there

is nothing further to put/combine earth in the platoon of Navgrahas.

karmabhoomi is a vital place for the planatary funs and mysteries.It is

difficult to think, imagine and assume the denuded nagrahas to assume the role

and be on the same pedstal of Earth.It is Earth first,the land where cycle of

births and deaths goes relentlessly.(with contribution from all navagrahas)
