Guest guest
Dear Members What planets impact sleep and dreams. Why should a native get the problem of speaking aloud in sleep. Could this be due to affliction of certain planets or is it just a pshchological problem. Can Astrology help in this regard. One of my friend is struggling with this problem. Can someone please analyze and help. Name: Sankaranarayanan DOB: 22st December, 1979. 01.30 AM Place: Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Please Advise. Guest guest
Dear friend, Dreaming or SWAPNA is a state of mind which is in between 'active' and 'asleep'. In Vedic terms, there are three AVASTHA of any mind: JAAGARAT, SWAPNA, SUSHUPTI. Though SWAPNA or DREAM is an involuntary action, its roots are in both conscious and sub-conscious mind. Since it is related with MIND and its state, it can be dealt with in astrology, as well as psychology. In earlier days, people used to consult astrologers to know the meanings of their dreams and outcomes. But now, it is rarely found. Astrologically, a swapna may also be taken as NIMITTA or omen, when it is symbolic or indirect. Vedic astro classics provide good guide lines in judging dreams from natal and prashna charts. Utilising them, one can consider the following factors in analysing dreams: 1.The avastha of planets(like nidraa, swapna, tandraa, supta etc) 2.The position of SHANI in dusthana from the Dasha lord, antardasha lord etc. 3.Chandra, Shani, Rahu and Kethu and their connection wrt TRIKONAs (1,5,9) 4.The 9th House or swapna bhaava.(Bhrigu Sutra) 5.Position of Surya in ASTA or 7th House wrt Lagna and Dasha lord etc for BAD SLEEP(Bhrigu Sutra) 6.The 8th DREKKANA which is dream decanate(Daivaj~na Vallabha, PrashnaTantra) 7.Lagna and its DWADASHAMSHA(D-12) (Yavanajataka) The detailed study of the above can be had from the major astro classics. Now for your question: A. Though, all planets have their own effect on ACTIVE, DREAM, SLEEP states, SHANI plays a major role in SLEEP being ruler of Nidraa, Tandraa and Alasya. The Bhavas connected with SLEEP are 7th and 12th especially with Surya. The planet concerned with DREAM are Lagna lord and 9th lord with 5th lord too. the dream bhava is the 9th and CHANDRA a natural karaka. B. Speaking in sleep can be analysed in the following different ways: a.From TRIKARANA: The connection between VAAK and MANAS when KAAYA is at rest. b.From Psychology: Involuntary control of SPEECH area of brain, due to sub-conscious mind. c.From YOGA: The oscillating transition of SWAPNA and SUSHUPTI 'avastha' in stability. Thus, anyone can easily understand that, it has to do with CHANDRA (MANAS) and BUDHA(VAAK). This 'switching of states' is facilitated by Rahu and Kethu. Now, let us look at the chart: 1.Lagna is Kanya, with Shani in it, without any aspects, making the native Saturnine, in qualities and action. Shani is in his own navamsha and exalted in D-12. This ensures a good amount of sleep usually. 2. Guru(4L, 7L) and Ravi(12L) are in parivartana; Guru joins Rahu, Mars in 12H. Guru is the lord of 8th Drekkana and Ravi is in same 8th Drekkana from lagna. This indicates disturbances in sleep. 3. Chandra the lord of dreams and mind is with another dreamy planet Shukra; the combination happens in a TRIKONA, which is owned by Shani. Further, Shukra is the lord of 9th(Dream) as well as 2nd(Speech), exalted in D- 12 like Shani! This is a striking combination for speaking in sleep! 4. The 'type' of disturbance or dream is connected with Rahu-Kethu afflicting Guru, Kuja combination in 12th. With Simha the 12th, being a quadruped sign and its lord in biped part of Dhanu indicate that the native dreams of animals, kings, battles(Ravi); Beasts, flesh, hunting, red things (Kuja); Temples, gods, holy places, godly creatures(Guru); strange creatures, horrifying incidents, poison(Rahu); Mantra, magic, spiritual persons(Kethu). Combing a few factors of these, I feel, the native sees SNAKES too in dreams. Lagna lord Budha, Shani strong at D-12, keep native asleep with VAAK (speech) active! comments of others are welcome! yours humbly KAD , anoop <anoopvalluva> wrote: > Dear Members > > What planets impact sleep and dreams. Guest guest
Dear Sir Thank you for the wonderful explanations. As you rightly predicted, the natives occassionally had experiences of seeing snakes in dreams.
