Guest guest
Dear friend, correct pronunciation is: 'tryambakam' (tri + ambakam = three eyed) I would stress that before chanting any Mantra, please know its meaning and its correct pronunciation. Though there are many other things to be known, these two are the MUST! PS: sanskrit part of the 'tryambakam': trINi ambakaani yasya sah = tryambakah (one who has 3 eyes = Shiva) ambakam(Eye) = ambu (jaayate) yasmin tat(one which has/produces water) yours KAD , "anil" <anil_bindal2000> wrote: > is it Om Tryamlakam or Om Tryambakam ? > > regards > anil
Guest guest
Thanks. What is the difference between a mantra jaap getting done by a Pandit and by listening to a Times Music Cassette ? 2ndly, Can the result of Mantra recitation be attributed to more than one person like the whole world or the family ?? Or dirfferent recitations are reqd for all family members ?? regards anil , "kadrudra" <kadrudra> wrote: > Dear friend, > > correct pronunciation is: > > 'tryambakam' (tri + ambakam = three eyed) > > I would stress that before chanting any Mantra, please know its > meaning and its correct pronunciation. Guest guest
Dear friend, Mantra Japa is the best way for its fructification. Though listening to mantras though casettes, cds etc is has its own good results, it CAN NOT assure the fructification of the mantra. PurascharaNa or repetition of mantra has to done by the person who wishes to acquire its results. If he is really incapable of doing it for any reason, he can get it done for him by his priest/guru/Acharya. So, stating in the sankalpa, anyone can do japa for the benefit of anyone and any number of persons. If many recite it for a 'single purpose', as determined in sankalpa part, its effect is multiplied! Usually, in homa/yajna, one AAHUTI(simply..one 'swaaha') can be given in the name of a mantra, ONLY IF the same has been repeated TEN times before yajna. So, for simple 10 Ahuti, the HOTR(performer) must have done Mantra Japa 100 times. But usually homa/yajna involve a minimum of 108 aahuti which needs 1080 times repetition of the mantra. But it is time consuming and so the same is done by 10 members for 108 times. This method is called 'ANYONYA SAHAYA' mantra japa, for a same goal. To be frank, mantras are to be kept secret and their disclosure on tapes, cds is not advocated. The phalashruti(results) part of any mantra, clearly mentions that it SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN to 'apaatra'(non eligible), even if he is own son! So my humble opinion is: seek and wait for a your GURU and get the mantra from him; till then you can meditate with OM, like Brahma did, in order to seek his Guru - the Vedapurusha! humbly KAD , "anil" <anil_bindal2000> wrote: > Thanks. > > What is the difference between a mantra jaap getting done by a Pandit and by > listening to a Times Music Cassette ? > > 2ndly, Can the result of Mantra recitation be attributed to more than one person like > the whole world or the family ?? Guest guest
In the case of getting the jaap done by a pandit, hopefully one who has taken the vow of poverty and does not show up at the pooja with a gold rolex on his wrist, you would be helping a dharmik person with his physical/worldly needs, as was the practice in the olden days. Endorsing the music casette -- you don't know who you are really supporting and how much! Mantras are very powerful, particularly if you wholeheartedly invest your soul in it. It is almost like bringing home a murti or even a sacred piece of crystal or stone and worshipping it as a symbol of Something great, even if you have no real clue what That being is. Yes, Guru is essential but Guru does not have to be a human or even a living being! I will leave it at that. The more you ask, the more confused you will become, because you are in a zone where it is hard to tell the ECHO apart from the message, let alone 'truth'! A mantra is an expedition into the wilderness of soul. However, most people start on a path, a "pagdandi" which means someone has walked before and it is comforting to know that, particularly when you don't find blood-stains or bones and the path vanishes suddenly! You can use a mantra or ritual as a path well-travelled, with all the insurance it brings, assumedly -- OR you can venture into the rest of the Universe as long as you have the faith in the truth that the Universe is not random or chaotic and is guarded by Kindness and Love. There will be challenges and set-backs -- they will test your faith and devotion -- in YOURSELF! Guest guest
Krishnan ji, That is to be expected. If everyone listened and followed proper advice, the world could be a happier place. However, modern (wo)man harbours many doubts as (s)he participates in the tug-og-war between earthly and cosmic reality. The cynic in me believes that the doubt is really an expression of inability to let go, to cling on to the status quo as nearly all of us experience. The karmic groove, though full of suffering, can be quite addictive and preferred by many over the uncertainty of that which can 'cure' the soul! Guest guest
Dear Rohini ji, May be it is worth to recall the great boost and confidence Lord Krishna tried to instill in the great warrior like Arjun; Action is Life and never be an example of inaction.why then Mars being Deivik planet pumps up energy and initiates action.May be write or wrong for that moment. This realisation of actions and fruits is the core of vedic Astrology. If this can be realised' can cure the soul" So let the celestial drama be understood for the present, future and from the past that potrays as: "in the tug-og-war between earthly and cosmic reality". The cynic in me believes that the doubt ........and clings on to status quo when many people show zeal in knowing future it is not to be academic but to get in to the frame and percieve life in it's practical sense. Th members are just interested in their future but not in their actions,in it's power that can do and do. Analysis of these actions has to be the basis for anticipating good or bad.Lagna in Astrology is the place lot canbe deciphered. krishnan "Rohini (Crystal Pages)" <rrgb wrote: Krishnan ji, That is to be expected. Guest guest
This morning while driving my son to bus stop, i saw a bird on the middle of the road. i blew the horn and had to stop almost till it flew away. At that moment i decided consciously that if another bird comes on my way, i will not stop as i was getting late. after 1/2 a km. i saw another bird on the road obstructing my way. as decided i did not blow horn and slowed down. Bird tried to flow away and was hit by my car.I am not sure if it died or just flew away..as per my son who was in the car, it could not have survived.. we missed the bus and had i had to drive very fast to catch the bus 5 kms down the bus stop.. On the way back home, i stopped at a petrol pump, something told me inside to get the air filed in the tyres..but i ignored.. later when started for office 3 hr. later, i found one of the tyres 1/2 punctured.. still i drove to a shop.but it was a holiday for them.. no air.. so they replaced the tyre with stepney..and i got late for the office.. reached 1/2 hr. late.. I am not able to decide the learnings out of this episode. Whatever i did was pre- decided consciously..why did the 2nd bird came in my way when i had already sent this message to universe that i will not stop !! Was it sin on not stopping my car or blowing the horn..? was it my karmit debt which i repaid or i created another karma effect for future ? What could have been the purpose ( not known to me ) ?? why did my car had 1/2 punture AND not full puncture ?? Can someone intrepret my learnings i am supposed to get out of this experience.?? It is not easy to assimilate the learnings for we are not even sure what are the meant learnings in life !! What to talk of right or wrong..!! All of us who write anything in this form on spirituality ( including me ) are far off from Salvation..very far !!!
