Sadak chhap ; the connotation

Respected Tanvir ji,

Sadak chhap literally means `branded as of the road', . It is a

derogatory and defamatory term used to convey that some one doesn't

know the subject `he has just a pedestrian knowledge' and could

possibly be a cheat . The phrase used for an astrologer assumes

other dimensions also ; it suggests that the knowledge of the person

is not more than that of the astrologers you see sitting along the

road , `wayside astrologers.'

With respect to all gurujan,

chap. It is sheer mental bankruptcy. I don't understand why most of

the astrologers beocome so fussy, arrogant and unreasonable some

time and start brickbating and use undesirable language. Talk

astrology and don't bother mudslinging. We are here to learn and

to unlearn. The people have saddened over such exchange of

unhealthy verbose. When we become arrogant, we loose the

potentialities to imbibe and learn. We no more remain pupils.

Learning needs humility whereas self praise needs no recommendation.
