Guest guest
Dear friends, I am not going to the other aspects. The god's idol worshipped in house should be less than 14 finger's height(width of the middle finger taken as the medium of measurement) as per the Vastru Shastra related to construction of idols to be kept in house for worship. More than that causes loss of energy and wealth of the houselord. With best wishes, Mandakini
Guest guest
Does it apply to piece of art and Ganesh which is normally kept in the house? It is not meant for pooja room purpose and worship? Clarity is lacking in all these discussions.Probably there is impingement on personal freedom krishnan preventina <preventina wrote: Dear friends, I am not going to the other aspects. Guest guest
dear friend mandakini i beg to differ that a big size statue at home (above 14 finger length as u said) would cause of loss of energy and wealth of the houselord. a bigger size idol or statue needs certain daily upacharas as laid in the scriptures which is why most people avoid it, thats it. but there is no binding rule as such even to this. i have seen thousands of affluent people who keep even 140 fingers length idols and statues in their houses and not only their fame grown in proportions but also their wealth increased. all this even when they were just exchanging daily garlands in the idols and nothing more than that. some people even do not put a garland and left the statues and idols just as collectors items in their drawing rooms. even if sastras prescribe, my own reading is that keeping a statue (small, medium or big) or worshiping any god (shanta, ugra or rudra) gives any negative affect. as other fraternity opined, it is left to the individual's personal discretion whether to go for big or small ugra or shanta. with best wishes arjun preventina <preventina wrote: Dear friends, I am not going to the other aspects.
