Dear All ,

I had asked this question on tis forum and at other places . How do we

calculate the Vahana of the Sun to pontificate on the rainfall .

I am giving the procedure below.

Take the nakshatra the Sun is entering . Calculate the number of nakshatras

to the nakshatra of moon. Divide tis number by nine.

If there is no remainder the vahana is Elephant denoting very hevy rainfall.

If remainder is one the vahana is Horse denoting Guaranteed rainfall .

If remainder is two the vahana is Fox denoting dry spell .

If remainder is three the vahana is Frog denoting Heavy rainfall .

If remainder is four the vahana is Goat denoting dry spell.

If remainder is five the vahana is Peacock denoting uneven rainfall

If remainder is six the vahana is Mouse denoting unsure rainfall

If remainder is seven the vahana is Buffalo denoting abundant rainfall

If remainder is eight the vahana is Donkey denoting erratic rainfall .

For example if the Sun is entering Punarvasu and the moon is in Ardra , then

the vahana is elephant which denotes heavy rainfall during the next thirteen

days .

Please note that this table applies only when the Sun enters Mriga .

Regards ,

Anand
