She is one of the dasa maha vidyas. If you cannot get a suitable panditji to help you with that worship, you may worship Shri Durga Devi. It is said "Durge Durgati naasini".. that is "Durga is the destroyer of malefic conditions in life". In all difficult situations, a person who recites "Jai Durge maam paahi" (Om Victory to Durga, protect me") will definitely be protected. I also worship Ma Bagalamukhi Yantra by chanting 'Om Hling Bagalamukhing Sarva Dushtanang Vachang Mukhang Padang Stambhay Jivyang Kilay Kilay Hling Om Swaha' 21 times. This was as suggested to me by a family astrologer when I faced difficult times. But as I am in a foreign country and as a student I only offer sweets to the Goddess on Tuesdays and light incense,please tell me if I am correct. I will correct my mistakes (if any) once I am settled with my career, as of now I am very confused. Deep Shankar, The mantra you are chanting is slightly different from what Panditji initiates, but this also seems to be correct. Worship of Bagalamukhi helps you to overcome all enemies those who want to put obstacles on your path of progress. But, one thing, I do not know if you are chanting the "Pitambari Kavacham" along with that. Or, atleast, did your astrologer initiate it to you once.... If not, kindly refrain from chanting the moola mantra you have mentioned in the email because, in Mantra Mahaarnavam it is clearly stated that chanting the moola mantra without initiation into the kavacham may lead to confusion in life circumstances which we obviously do not want to happen. If you have not been initiated into the kavacham, you may recite the following mantra: " Om Namo bhagavati Bagalamukhi devi mama pranaamam swee kuru" (Meaning, Oh Mother Bagalamukhi kindly accept my worshipful greetings) 21 times or so based on your time availability. The offerings you give are o.k. It is better to wear yellow clothes, and offer yellow fruits to Balamukhi devi. But, if you are sure your astrologer has guided you properly, kindly do not bother about what I have written because if he is really an expert in mantra shastra, he may have the power to grant exemption from certain rituals which ofcourse he will be doing for you. If you cannot be sure whether he does it, take the safer course I have mentioned above. Another request.... Kindly do not write moola mantras of powerful Devatas in open forums. If due to transliteration error, people read it in wrong pronunciation, there will be untoward incidents. Mantra shastra is like atomic science. It has to be carefully approached under expert guidance. You can share nama japas (recital of names of deities) or small slokhas but NOT moola mantras that should be divulged only by initiation according to certain set principles. Anyway, it is appreciable that young gentlemen like you are showing keen interest in pursuing our ancient wisdom though you have so many commitments for your valuble time when living abroad. Please pardon me as I am a novice and did not know the implication of this mantra. My astrologer has not mentioned anything about the Pitambari kavacham, so as per your advice I will now onwards chant the mantra mentioned by you. I was facing some difficulties so my astrologer (who also happens to be a family friend) asked my mother to send the Bagalamukhi Yantra to me with the mantra and asked me to chant the same for 11 times. Later, due to my own interest and inquisitiveness, I went through various articles on the internet and came up with a list of rituals that has been advised for the Devi. It was then that I felt the need to improvise on my methodology and was looking out for someone to answer my questions.
