Virus- attachments

Dear members of list,

Another round of virus attack seems to have started. It has in one of

the jyotish forums. Be careful while opening the attachments even from

known addressees as I was also a victim of a mail from one of fellow

members( his ID, probably he did not even know as it cannot be found

on the sent list).

had to spend a lot of energy and time on a futile exercise.

It is interesting that these come in waves. Is someone logging these

time-periods when virus activity increases? I am sure there might be

some tracking that is kept by the major antivirus sellers. Would be

interesting to correlated with astrological patterns -- kind of like

stock-market tracking.

 

Any of the IT-related members can shed some light?

The virus attack as u said can be a industry sponsered one some times not

anymore there was a company called NASSHOT from Bangalore run by a tamilian

forgot his name, used to plant future time bomb [bound virus already] to appear

ona future date and `TOO MANY TIMES IT APPEARED HE ONLY HADA CURE TOO' viruses

which were not int he west, so one day he was caought its CEO left to singapore

as he had made enuf money by then.

it is not possible now as any compitetor will reveal the source as each and

every item on ur PC has IP adress and ir mail route has its IP address will be

picked in seconds if u hvae seen the Mona Lisa viirus creator from Philippines

was picked in hours of him letting loose, similarly Daniel Pearl the french

journalist who was killed in Pak his killers used Notebooks but useda net

connection for a internet cafe yet were traced IP of the note book

recently the threat of a bomb in parliment came from a net center

inTirunelveli inTN was traced in minutes and arrested so can't be easy anymore.

even if someone wants to proctect a criminal som thread of it anny one can pick

and NAIL the culprit
