Water and indigestion - a few words

Dear ALL,

What all discussed here about digestion is good; but it is not new to

Indians as AYURVEDA speaks of concept of USHAH. PAANA.(filling a

small copper pot with cold water at night with/without medicines and

drinking it immediately after waking up in the morning). Always the

emphasis is on what OTHERS do and copy that - that has been the

recent trend ; well at least better late than never!

A small info-bit: Japanese do not drink water - at least in the empty

stomach - that too ONE LITRE!?-never! Do not call me mad, for I am

living amidst them and know the truth. A typical Japanese gets up and

immediately eats in a hurry, dresses up and hangs on to metro! If

there is any drink in between, that is black coffee/Japanese

Tea/Green Tea/very rarely milk based drinks --- ALL WITHOUT SUGAR.

Water -- hmmmm - at my Osaka-office a lady asked me - HA? DO YOU

DRINK WATER?

If at all, Japanese drink water, it is mineral water bottled cleanly

and labelled with hundreds of yens! So there is no USHAH.PAANA

business!

yours humbly

HAH! Looks like globallization is finally taking over the modern

world. And someone actually said, just a few decades ago, "East and

West, never shall the twain meet!". Well maybe they never did meet

and ONE just took over the other. India has seen that personally and

upclose, first from the middle and then from the west and now ...?

I think it is a good trend, even if some in the 7 billion strong

world and more in some clustered (or shall we say cloistered?)

groups would maintain otherwise!

Dear KAD ji,

The issue is not about somebody taking water in the morning or not.In tropical

climates water requirement and intake is undoubtedly more.

Also in the process of civilisations ,advent technology has great relevance. In

our country we still believe in hard work and following the practices of elder

generations.

Drinking plent of water may be a personal choice.it's impact on general health

can not be ignored.

Early morning drinking water with empaty stomache is really good and helps to

mainatian balance and in the removal of toxins in the body.

For whom it does not suit no problem.Somebody very xautious of quality water

may opt for mineral water.otherwise normal drinking water in the place of

stay/residence is not bad.so one can consume with confidence.

A developed country like japan has it's own ways of life influenced by world

wars.It has all features to take over the west and make true east meets west in

one or other form.

For other countires there is long way even to think of green tea evry day.

Dear Krishnan,

I am not suggesting that one should drink Green Tea every morning!

Perhaps you did not get the message of the post; I just wanted to say:

1.Ushah.Paana is good for health

2.It is mentioned in Ayurveda and is practised since long years.

3.Do not throw away all the ancient knowledge like 'STALE GOODS'.

4.Do not copy from other countries just because THEY do it.

5.If you copy good things from others and realise that it was there

in your own lineage and appreciate it, GOOD!

hope it is clear now

yours
