Dear Miss Astro,

Though I am against disclosing mantras on web which makes one more

confused like the present one, here is a bit of Sanskrit which may be

of some help to the curious:

This Mantra as described in atharva ShIrsha has three parts:

two bIjaksharas + a samhita, which you know already as OM GAM G..

The gaM. gaN.a -> becomes gan.gaN.a according to anunAsika sandhi of

sanskrit grammar. So both versions are same! BUT mind you, both have

different uses, impacts and pronunciation effects. The bIjAkshara

which you wrote as "gum/gun" is the GaNesha VidyA in AtharvaNa

described thus:

'ga'kAra(pUrvarUpa) + 'a'kAra(madhyama rUpa) + anusvAra(antya rUpa) +

bindu (uttara rUpa) + nAda(sandhAna) + samhitA (sandhi)

I am not confusing you but trying to say that it is better to learn

it right way for correct results. By the way, I do not prefer women

to learn this, as there are so many simple ways of getting the same

result.

yours

KAD
