Dear Gauranga das and the list,

Thanks for bringing it up. You are right. These degrees are not tropical but

sidereal. It was an oversight. Cassics I listed or any classic on natal

horoscopy does not talk of tropical Zodiac.

Sensitivity of degrees of the zodiac can be with reference to sidereal

placements only. It will be good, if some one in the list with background in

Astronomy, link these sensitive degrees with 'pulsars', 'quasars' or other

remote sources etc. found in the space.

Seasons are linked with earth's distance from the Sun as that distance keeps

changing due to shape of ecliptic. This has link with 'tropical Zodiac'

only. The Sun's entry in Uttarayan, dakshinayan, equinoxes etc. bring

'tropical' zodiac to fore.

Best wishes,

Shiv Chadha

JAYA JAGANNATHA!

Dear Shivji,

Namaste.

If you are hinting at Mrityu Bhagas, please could you quote a reference

which confirms that Mrityu Bhagas should be calculated on the basis of

tropical (sayana) zodiac and not sidereal? My understanding hitherto was

that every reference point is based on the sidereal (Nirayana) zodiac.

As for the seasons, I am not convinced. It is standardly listed with

reference to Nakshatra-based (i.e. sidereal) zodiac. At least this is what

Sanjay said in this regard. With the rest of it you are correct.

Yours,
