What indicates death of father in early life ?

Ah,

 

With more analysis, I think I might have uncovered

the mistry of my father's early death. If I looked

at my navamsa kundali (which is posted below), the

lord of the 9th house (Scorpio) which is MARS is

in the 12th house which indicates LOSS of FATHER.

 

Is my analysis right ? Please clarify this

Someone has correctly mentioned that afflictions to 9th and 9th lord

give early death of father. Situation of 9th lord in 8th, as you

mentioned, is usually seen in the charts of such people.

 

However, Parasara advised to see parents from Dwadasamsa (D-12). Use

that instead of navamsa (D-9). Navamsa shows the dharma followed by

one. Concentrate on D-12.

 

Check your D-12 chart (use a computer program to get the chart).

Treat it as if it was an independent rasi chart. Check the 9th house

from lagna or Sun (whichever is stronger). Check if its lord is in

8th or afflicted or if the 9th itslf is badly afflicted/

 

The 9th house in D-12 shows the guidance and protection received from

father. The 9th lord in D-12 shows father (body).

 

First study the 9th and 9th lord in your D-12 and get back to me. If

it does not make sense, you can try to shift D-12 lagna a bit.

In rasi chart, 9th lord moon is neecha and aspected by saturn. 9th house is

aspected by saturn and mars. 9th lord has no favourable aspects. 9th house

is aspected by jupiter, but as it is debilitated and associated with a much

stronger mars, not very effective. I have also noticed in the past that the

mutual aspect of saturn and mars can make them far more malefic in their

intentions.

 

So looking further, moon is in mercury's nakshatra and mercury rules the

8th. Since mercury's dasa runs soon after birth, this could indicate a

death.

paragraph are seen in my jataka. But everyone

seem to echo your words about the early death of

or the 12th house (venus) FROM THE 9th is in

the 1st house from the 9th which MAY indicate

LOSS of FATHER's body/life. What do you think ?

statement. Should I concentrate on 1st, 8th and 10th

lords or should I concentrate on 4th, 6th and 9th

lords ? Also, should I look at rasi koota or D-* ?

Looking at both of these in the rasi koota didnt

bring out anything.

saturn and mars" what do you mean ? I'm a beginner.

In your D-12 the temporary Pitri Lagna becomes Ge. It houses the 12L Ve.

 

Furthermore, the 9H is hemmed between Functional Malefic Sun & Natural Malefic

on one side and a Functional Malefic Ju on the other. Thus the 9H is subjected

to Paapa Kartaari Yoga.

 

The Chara PitriKaaraka in your chart is Sun. It is eclipsed by Rahu!!!!

 

The only other planet aspecting Pitri Lagna is Mars the other Functional Malefic

for Ge.

 

The 9L Mercury is conjoined with Moon the Maraka for 9H. It is aspected(rasi) by

Ju the Maraka for Ge.

 

There are no positive indications here.

There isn't any consensus among scholars and Pundits about the house

relating to father. Generally, both 9th and 10th are accepted. It is

interesting to see the responses. Hardly anybody mentioned the 10th house.

 

The classics don't seem to clear this confusion. There are places in BPHS

where 10th house is examined and at other places where prominence is given

to the 9th.

 

It wasn't until only a few months ago, I read a research where the

author/team had tried to establish some concrete parameters. (although it

can be argued about the sample size, etc., the accuracy of the research and

results is not the topic here because it takes many years to establish

standards even for reputed scientists like Einstien, Newton, Galileo.....

I am sharing the info. and you can decide to experiment if you so wish)

 

In that research the team found that both the houses are applicable;

however the team found that examining 9th from Lagna / Moon, and 10th from

Sun provided higher consistency/accuracy in predictions.

 

The 9th house effects has already been mentioned by many. Now, look at the

10th house from the Sun. These indications can be seen in D-1 itself.

Now, obtain confirmation using Dashas, and D-12.

Dear Vinay!

 

In your Rasi chart, from 9th house Cancer,

 

1. The 1st lord, Moon (9th lord from Lagna) is placed in the 5th.... hence

strong.

2. The 8th lord Saturn is placed in 11th house........strong

3. another 8th lord Rahu is placed in the 6th............ weak

4. 10th lord Mars is placed in the 7th with 6th lord........... weak.

 

This shows that your fathers age might be in the middle age bracket. You can

see the same in the D-12 chart which can give more clear picture. As I am

writing from my office and even't don't have a astrology software installed

in my computer, I can't write more. You can see your own D-12 and get back

to me.

mars aspects the 7th house from itself and saturn the 3rd from itself. As

mars is in the 3rd, the 7th from it is the 9th. And since saturn is in the

7th, the 3rd from it is the 9th.

 

BTW, please diregard my comments re the mutual aspect of mars and saturn. I

was thinking of graha drishti, which is not there. There is however, mutual

rasi drishti.

 

I also cast the chart today, and found the sun debilitated in navamsa. As

karaka for father, this weakens it.

 

Ketu is in the 8th house - again the theme of deaths. Venus was exalted in

rasi and debilitated in navamsa. This can bring serious reversals during

venus' dasa periods.

 

Then again, during 1976, saturn was in transit in the 9th house. Mars too

may have been in transit in the 9th house at the time of his death.

 

Ketu in transit was in the 6th house. It is in one of the houses aspected by

natal mars and is aspected by transit saturn from the 9th. Transit venus may

have also been in the 8th house.

 

In my experience, I have found that when natal indications, dasa indications

and transits come together, things get triggered off. First the

possibilities must be there in the natal chart. Then transits must echo

natal indications, especially those of slow planets. However, if a planet is

in retrograde and lingering in a sign, that can act like one of the slower

planets and have strong effects. Thirdly, if the dasa periods tie in with

the above natal and transit indications, then there is a high probability of

events.

By what you both said, if it is not obvious

from the rasi chart that father died at my

early age by checking if 9th lord is in 8th

house, it could be a very complex search to

find out about this event. You have to have a

thorough knowledge of astrology to even

guess this event - let alone confirming it...

 

By the way, Sarajit, I have found an online

chart generator which is very accurate. There

are others which are crap. Here is the link

Hello Narasimha,

 

Unfortunately, I must send my regrets. I do not wish to debate other

peoples' translations. I personally have never read the original BPHS;

neither am I a scholar of Sanskrit. I have only read translations.

 

Yes, among the many books I have read, I have come across this confusion

many times. I do not want to quote the sources because the best people to

offer clarifications would be the authors themselves rather than I on

behalf of scholars.

 

To me, it is enough that there exists this confusion or debate among

scholars. (Like I pointed out I cannot debate translation with anybody as

I do not know Sanskrit well. But ofcourse two scholars who understand

Sanskrit are best suited for such a debate.)
