Guest guest
Namaste, I am a student of astrology who has just joined this list. I am undergoing David Frawley's correspondance course with the American Institute of Vedic Astrology. I am particularly fascinated with the system of 27 Nakshatras, and was wondering if anyone could direct me to resources of further research, either online or printed. I would also be interested in a discussion of the Nakshatras on this listserve. I found one interesting webpage that attempted to explain the order of planetary rulerships for the lunar mansions (and the doshas). Here is the address: <http://www.hssworld.org/hindutva/hindu_calendar/>. I am not endorsing this site, but I thought it was interesting because I did not think anyone knew why the planets ruled the Nakshatras and planetary periods in that order. Looking at my own chart, I have come across a quandary regarding Mars. I am a Gemini lagna with a debilitated Mars in the 2nd. All my life I have felt this debilitation, and now I learn that for this lagna, Mars has a negative effect. Should I feel blessed that as a Gemini my Mars is weakened? Should I work to increase or decrease Mars influence? Looking forward to advancing my understanding of Jyotish and myself through this listserve. Guest guest
Dear david, Namaskar, Read that URL with interest. Even Parasara and His predecessors believed and taught about a seven day week. This logic about nine day week is too far fetched and to say this in the name of Hindutwa is too much. Hindu's were far more intelligent than that scribe. Guest guest
Look at pages 43 - 59 of the first part of Frawley's course. He describes the planetary energies by Ascendant. For Gemini, a fallen Mars is indeed difficult. You'll note when Mars is active, it causes you and your mother both some harm. A fallen planet is no blessing, but rather a karmic challenge. You should work to overcome its effects. I wouldn't prescribe remedies without you being a client, but I would encourage you to "use up" Mars energy daily, to deflect it from bringing harms. Mars loves agriculture, nature, pets, hatha Yoga, sex, exercise of all kinds and sports. Do these things daily and your life will be much easier. Right now, use care, for Mars is nearing conjunction with Ketu in Sag. Accidents could occur, and you may have personal and business relationship challenges. Events for this transit happen very fast. The most sensitive time is 9/10 - 9/14. Regarding more info on the Nakshatras, Hart Defouw does a nice job in "Light On Life", and Dennis Harness in "Nakshatras." I think that Komilla Sutton also has a Nakshatra text out, and she is very easy to follow. If your Mars in in Ashlesha, it is worse than in Pushya. doug riemer vedic astrology, "blue rodent" <bluerodent@h...> wrote: > Namaste, > > I am a student of astrology who has just joined this list.
