Can someone give a brief description of how one goes about determining transits? 2. When determining aspects because of transiting planets do the same rules apply as for the natal chart? For example Mars is said to aspect 4th and 8th houses from its location, Saturn 3rd and 10th, etc. 3. If the native is living in a place different from his/her place of birth, which location should be used to determine transits? 4. A personal question: I have been reading mails on this list about various aspects/conjunctions of planets taking place right now in relation to Gemini. I was wondering what kind of effect these transits would have for me (my Sun is in Gemini). The planets have the same nature as in your birth chart and are applied similarly. The aspects are used the same way as in the natal. > > 2. Rahu and Jupiter are in Gemini now and depending on your ascendant the planets will have differing functionality depending on which houses they own and if they are dhustana houses. So if they own dhustana houses they will bring challenges, loss or service and are considered by some to be functional malefics if not they are considered by some to be functional benefics, i.e. they behave as their function with the flavor of their natural status. Hope this is some help. There are differing views but generally this is accepted. You could be feeling some restlessness and or deepened creativity, research and possibly travel or study. Jupiter in the 12H aspects the 4H and 8H so an expansion of gains in status wealth and family in the areas of home, private life and other's money, but only slightly .
