In the few days that I've been to this newsgroup now, I've found the place very interesting, informative and most of all, people here are very helpful. One astrologer has told me that mine is the most unfortunate horoscope that he's seen. He said my lagna lord is dead, and so is the only benefic, and the only ones that are placed well are malefics. Now that's bad news for me, yet I must confess that I haven't had that many misfortunes in life, though I haven't achieved anything spectacular in life. I'm a civil engineer, and quite happily married with a 3-yr old son (whose longevity issue I'd brought up earlier in this newsgroup). My only aim in which I've been bitterly disappointed over the past year or so is in my attempt to try and settle abroad. Can someone tell me if I'll ever be successful? Are you a wealthy person and most probably there whould have been lot of Income to you thru your wife . Your Ascendent lord in combust , but it makes Budh Aditya Yog in 10 H and it also form Budha Maha Pursha Yog . We can say that the effect will less but it can never be said as unfortunate . Apart from peace and happiness (which I tend to equate to wealth), I haven't gained much thru her; certainly not monetary benefits. Regarding Budha-Aditya yoga, I think it's formed when Sun and Merc are separated by at least 10 degrees, right? Thanx again for your kind reply. No one can really assist you without the correct information. The ascending degree that you quoted is less than a degree from changing signs. You might even have the incorrect lagna in the Rasi chart, not to mention all of the others. Budhaditya yoga is caused by the conjunction of Sun and Mercury, the matter of combustion effects its strength, not the existence of the yoga. In your case Mercury is retrograde, and because of this is in between the Earth and the Sun. Therefore there is no combustion, as the rays of the planet are able to reach the Earth, and are not blocked by the Sun. If Virgo ascends, then your lagna lord is relatively strong in own house in the 10th, uncombusted. The only problem is the retrogression, which will give delays in career progress. Retrogression causes delays in the matter signified by the planet. In your case it is status and career indicated by the 10th house placement. A way out is to do a mantra for Rama, as indicated by Mercury conjunct Sun in Gemini. This will assist in career development. However your lagna might be Simha, which would change everything. My first job was in March 1989. Other facts: 1. I've a tremendously successful elder brother (my only sibling). 2. I lost my mother on Oct 23, 1997 (father's still alive) 3. People say I'm honest but that I hav a vitriolic tongue; too blunt for comfort, they say. 4. I don't have any disabilities, and don't even wear spectacles. 5. I'm short and corpulent. 6. I walked out of a very good job following a little tiff with the boss on March 14, 2000. 7. My wife and I have been having intermittent spasms of tension from April 2000 onwards, but overall I'm quite happily married. 8. My only child (son) was born on Aug 10, 1998.
