Guest guest
Dear LIst Members, Ruchaka Yoga and other Mahapurusha Yogas like Bhadra, Hamsa, etc. are best seen from the lagna, though a few sources of lesser authority take them from the Moon as well, in my opinion, however they should only be taken from the lagna. The planet forming the Mahapurusha YOga should be in an angle from the lagna, though there is some information out there that state in an angle or trine, though this is does not have any classical sanction that I am aware of. If the Mahapurusha Yoga forming planet is joined with the SUn or Moon the Yoga is cancelled, so in Hitler's chart he did not have Ruchaka Yoga since Mars is with the Moon. The Mahapurusha Yogas are not dasa dependent, they indicate lifelong charactistics with which the native furhters themselves in life with. Of course the dasa of a strong planet in an angle is generally a promising dasa. I submit the birth chart with the following details: March 11, 1954 12:41 PM, Richmond VA, 37n33, 77w28, EST +5.00 In this horoscope Jupiter, Mars and Saturn are all fomring thier respective Mahapurusha Yogas, Hamsa, Ruchaka, and Sasa. Saturn is with the Sun so the Sasa yoga is innefective, Mars is with the Moon so the Ruchaka Yoga is also innefictive. Jupiter alone is forming a Mahapurusha Yoga and it is the qualities of the Hamsa Yoga that are most marked in the native. Guest guest
I have never read/heard about this criterion that you mention. Could you please provide the source; thx. As well, any thoughts from senior members would be welcome..... I personally don't understand the logic here. Sun/Moon considered the Royal planets should increase the effects of Mahapurusha even more so if Moon is participating in Gajakesari yoga...... (But then again there are some yogas the results of which seem to defy logic.....) Guest guest
Dear Sanjiv, I am in Europe at the time without my books so I can't look up the reference to the Sun and Moon disrupting Mahapurusha Yogas, and I can't remember off the top of my head. ANother chart that shows this is the chart of Anni Oakley AUg, 13, 1860 12:01 LMT 40n20, 84w20: In the horoscope of Annie Oakley, famous markswoman, who started using a rifle at the age of six to help her family hunt for food, and who became on of the best known professional game hunters, Jupiter is in the 10th house in exaltation forming Hamsa Yoga. Jupiter, however, is conjunct the Sun, therefore the characteristics of Hamsa Yoga are not dominate in her personality. Rather, vargottama Mars in the 3rd in Sagittarius, which rules weapons, is aspecting the lagna lord Venus with a rasi aspect, describing her personality exactly. When I Arrive home and dig my books out from storage I will try to find the source. I do beleive that it is in Charaks books on yogas, and I have spoken to it with CHakrapani who also agrees with that. THe dasa of a planet that would be forming mahapurusha yogas, but that is joined with the SUn of Moon is of course a good dasa, a strong planetg in an angle with a luminary has to be a successful dasa, but the lifelong qualities and characteristics of the mahapursha yoga will be missing.
