Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna ----------------- Dear Angie, The PanchaMahaa Purusha Yoga are based on the 5 tatwas or the primordial elements of nature i.e fire, earth, ether, water and air. Five tattwas show the spirit and nature of a nativity.Out of the 5, one predominates. Hence a person can have Hamsa(Jupiter/Ether) and Sasa(Saturn/Air), but they would not produce results if most of the planets are in Water (Jala) and/or Fiery(Agni) signs. Similarly these planets should not be blemished by conjunction of other planets that may vitiate the MahaPurusha Yoga. Above all, the Sun & Moon should be strong. Why??? Because the Sun is responsible for initiating the Yoga & Moon is responsible for sustaining it. You must have also noticed that the Sun and Moon were kept out of the Pancha MahaPurusha Yoga!!! So, why are the Sun and Moon given so much importance and responsible for initiating the Yoga and sustaining them respectively??? I think the answer is given in the awesome book "Shani Mahatmya" or "The Greatness Of Saturn". Ofcourse, you might also find the explanation in other literature. THE SUN: -------- "Everything originates from the Sun, for he is the soul of all. He is the King of the sky, the ruler of all that falls between the earth and the celestial regions. The Haritas, the Sun's green horses, are the 7 solar rays, which are the 7 Vedic Meters. There is no reckoning of Time without the Sun. The 12 Solar Devas are the 12 Adityas, the sons of Aditi. They are Vivaswan, Aryama, Pushan, Tvashtri, Savitri, Bhaga, Dhata, Vidhata, Varuna, Mitra, Shakra & Urukrama. Vivaswan's eldest son was Vivasvata whose eldest son was Ikshvaku, who founded the Solar race of human kings. Lord Ramachandra was the descendent of Ikshvaku. So now we know why not only Sun is responsible for initiating the Yoga, but that Sri Rama is represented by Sun". THE MOON: --------- "The Moon is the mind of all, the lord of all senses and their emotions, and those who worship him assiduously lose their disease and become happy. He was born to Rish Atri & Anusuya("Non-Spiteful"). Rishri Atri undertook sever penance for 3000yrs. Then when his body became thoroughly profused with Soma(Nectar or The Essence), the godesses of 10 directions then gathered to receive that Soma into their collective Womb, but they could not hold it for very long, and thus was born Moon. The Vedas declare that Moon is none other than King Soma, the food of the Gods. The moon is master of the worlds water, and rules salty taste, controls the tides and actuates the rains. Foods grow due to his light. In the Moon's lineages innumerable Kings have been born, including the greatest of them all, God incarnate on this earth, Perfection Personified(Purnatmaka Purushottama), the protector of cows, the beloved of the milkmaids: Lord Krishna. This Shri Krishna, a true scion of the lunar race, causes everyone to remember him and experience limitless bliss." Moon's favorite nakshatra is Rohini which is Lord Krishna's nakshatra!!! Hope this helps. Guest guest
Jai Shri Jagannath, I really like this view of Sun as initiating yoga and moon as sustaining it: I think this gets to the essence of Sun as Ahamkara (Self as doer) significator and Moon as Manas (mind)significator (mind as the nurterer, the organizer of cycles leading from the desire of Ahamkara to the fulfillment in Prithivi--the multi-dimensional world). Guest guest
Hi, thanks, Visti and Narayan. To Narayan, the book you recommended seems neat, it sounds like from what you wrote in that later post it's got like a less having to think subliminal edge to it, less thinking, less questions, I'm all for that p.s. if you know, do you know what was the stongest planetary influence ~ combination in Edgar Cayce's horoscope? vedic astrology, "Narayan Iyer" <narayan_iyer@m...> wrote: > Hare Rama Krishna > ----------------- > > Dear Angie, > > The PanchaMahaa Purusha Yoga are based on the 5 tatwas or the > primordial elements of nature i.e fire, earth, ether, water and air. > > Five tattwas show the spirit and nature of a nativity.Out of the 5, > one predominates. > > Hence a person can have Hamsa(Jupiter/Ether) and Sasa(Saturn/Air), > but they would not produce results if most of the planets are in Water > (Jala) and/or Fiery(Agni) signs. > > Similarly these planets should not be blemished by conjunction of > other planets that may vitiate the MahaPurusha Yoga. > > Above all, the Sun & Moon should be strong.
