Guest guest
Hi, Lord's Janma nakshatra is Punarvasu 4th Pada. So what you wrote may be for lagna. We will await Ramapriya to provide more insight on Rama. warm regards, Balaji S. --- sanjayprabhakaran <s.prabhakaran wrote: > Om Gurave Namah, > Dear Ramapriya, > I don't know the exact date of birth. > But the horoscope is > Asc: Cancer > Sun: Aries > Moon: Cancer > Mars: Capricorn :Represents Hanumanji > Mercury: Taurus > Jupiter: Cancer > Venus: Pisces > Saturn(Retro): Libra > Rahu: Sagittarius : Represents Ravana > Ketu: Gemini > Tithi of Birth: Shukla Navami > Nakshtra: Pushyam:(I am not sure whether it's > Janma/Lagna nakshatra) > > Regards > S.Prabhakaran > > > > vedic astrology, "ramapriya_d" > <ramapriya_d> wrote: > > A lot of references keep being made here to the > lord Rama's > > horoscope. Guest guest
Dear Krishna, Two tithis are important - (1) tithi at birth and (2) tithi at sunrise on the day of birth. Even assuming Rama was born around the noon during Ashtami with Navami to come after 6-7 hours, his birthday would still be Ashtami (using either (1) or (2)). But his birthday is celebrated on Navami and Valmiki mentioned Navami. Moreover, the interpretation of thak pratyaya is highly questionable. If Valmiki mentioned Navami and the longitudes suggest Dasami, you can use similar logic and say that Rama was born on Dasami, but the day was considered a Navami as it was Navami at sunrise. Here it is the opposite and there is no plausible explanation. In a separate mail, Partha wrote: <<<an event which has taken place some millions of years ago?(Refer to treta yuga definition in any standard vedic literature).>>> As per Vedic literature, Treta yuga ended about 869,000 years back (and started about 2,165,000 years back. <<<I have read in one of the discovery profiles that the moon is receding away from eartha tht speed of 1 cm every year. This proves the fact tht the moon was much closer to earth during htose 'HALYCON RAMA" days. thus it is very much possible that the moon must have traversed 'faster' through' different nakshatras. This can simply mean that the precession that the earth is undergoing and the movement of moon have to be very much considered in our ANALYSIS.>>> Points: (1) Moon is more than 350,000 km away from earth. At the rate of 10 cm per year, change in 1-2 million years is 100-200 km. This does not make much difference. (2) In any case, we are not talking in terms of days, hours and minutes. We are talking in terms of longitudes. Irrespective of Moon's distance from earth and speed, the longitude difference between Moon and Sun on a Sukla Navami has to be between 96 and 108 deg. All the arguments given so far for Rama's Chandra nakshatra being Punarvasu are shallow at best. Sadly you guys think that "Rama was born in Punarvasu nakshatra" (Valmiki didn't use the phrase "janma nakshatra") automatically implies Rama's Moon was in Punarvasu. It is not so simple. If you take this wrong position, only logical explanation you can give for the riddle of Navami is that Sun's exaltation sign used to be Pisces in Treta yuga. Sastri suggested in some book. But I don't buy this suggestion. I consider Sanjay's suggestion (that Rama's lagna - and not Moon - was in Punarvasu) to be much simpler and more logical. Please try to think...
