Guest guest
Now a days it is becoming almost impossible or very expensive to get real flawless and non-treated Ruby or Blue Sapphire in the market. 97% of the very clear or flawless Ruby in the market are heat-treated which is now acceptable practice all over the world and most of the time the value of the stone also doesn't effect in the market. Heat treatment is applied on Ruby to improve color and appearance. With the modern treatment process it is also becoming impossible to test if a Ruby or Sapphire is treated or not. One of my friend tried to get a natural ruby tested in 3 different labs—2 of them said it is not treated while one said it is treated. Any natural stone when get treated it looses most of its astrological strength. So when you are not sure that if you are getting untreated Ruby or not, I think it is better to wear its substitutes. I looked at different astrological books for substitutes of Ruby and I found the following. I will be looking at other gems in future. I am leaving it to Guruji Mr. Rath, Rao and list members to give your view on which stone or stones should be the closest substitute and which are not by looking at the chemical compositions of the stones and from your own perception. Ruby: Al2O3, Aluminum Oxide Rutile Hexagon Ruby: Al2O3, Aluminum Oxide (This is almost like Ruby, but not clear, it is translucent) Red Spinel : MgAl2O4 , Magnesium Aluminum Oxide ( Just by looking you can't tell that this is not a Ruby) Sunstone (from India): NaCa(Al, Si)AlSi2O8, Sodium Calcium Aluminum Silicate (Orange) Sunstone (Oregon, USA): NaCa(Al, Si)AlSi2O8, Sodium Calcium Aluminum Silicate (More expensive then Indian) (Hot Orange) Red Zircon: ZrSiO4, Zirconium Silicate (Red) Rhodolite Garnet: Mg3Al2(SiO4)3, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate ( Purple- Red) Orange Garnet: Mn3Al2(SiO4)3, Manganese Aluminum Silicate (Redish Orange) Cats Eye Sunstone: NaCa(Al, Si)AlSi2O8, Sodium Calcium Aluminum Silicate Sun Sapphire: Al2O3, Aluminum Oxide ( Usually heat treated, it is really red sapphire) Rubellite: Na(Li,Al)3Al6Si6O18(BO3)3 (OH)4, Sodium Lithium Aluminum Boro-Silicate Hydroxide ( Red pink in colour)
Guest guest
There are jewellers & astrologers to test wether a stones is orginal or not still that days have not come There are devices to test stones >>> for example Pushyaram >>>a Meter is available in the market if it is pure the level in the device crosses 6 ....If it is less than 6 than synthetic is in the stone & it is not pushyaragam Best Regards Srinagesh chandan_astro <chandan_astro > wrote: Now a days it is becoming almost impossible or very expensive to get real flawless and non-treated Ruby or Blue Sapphire in the market. 97% of the very clear or flawless Ruby in the market are heat-treated which is now acceptable practice all over the world and most of the time the value of the stone also doesn't effect in the market. Guest guest
Srinagesh, Yes, I know there are lot of devises, some treatments such as oil treatments that are usually done on Emeralds are easily detected because of foreign object (oil) present in the stone. I am not talking about synthetic treatments. The treatments that are done on Ruby and Blue sapphire are high pressure that produce heat, so there is no foreign object or chemical present in the stone. I have visited the American gemology association labs in US, the only way you can detect if a Ruby or Blue Sapphire is not heat-treated is by looking it through very powerful microscope. You really look for silk (natural layers that get deposited on natural stone). When you heat-treat a natural stone it looses most of the silk making it totally clear even under microscope. But now a days even a very small precious stone is partially heat treated, so even after heat treatment there will be visible silk under microscope—which sometime make it impossible to tell if it is treated or not. but the treatmentsvedic astrology, vankateshwara srinagesh <sri999> wrote: > > Hahaha ....................orginal is orginal & duplicate is duplicate...... > There are jewellers & astrologers to test wether a stones is orginal or not still that days have not come > There are devices to test stones >>> for example Pushyaram >>>a Meter is available in the market > if it is pure the level in the device crosses 6 ....If it is less than 6 than synthetic is in the stone & it is not pushyaragam > Best Regards > Srinagesh > chandan_astro <chandan_astro> wrote: Now a days it is becoming almost impossible or very expensive to get > real flawless and non-treated Ruby or Blue Sapphire in the market. > 97% of the very clear or flawless Ruby in the market are heat- treated > which is now acceptable practice all over the world and most of the > time the value of the stone also doesn't effect in the market.
